This is a great replacement part for the Hot air started blowing from the driver's side, while cold air was coming from the passenger's side
5/5

Installed a new actuator under the steering wheel on the driver's side. I was able to activate it I managed to fix it with patience, even though the area behind the glove box is tricky to work in. (If it blows air on the passenger side, it's the actuator behind the glove box and closest to the radio). The process took me under an hour, and I saved hundreds of dollars. This could have been sold for at least $400 by the dealer. As you work, remove the plastic area above the brake pedal step by step. The actuator should be positioned above and as far to the right as possible. I am done! This picture shows the first it replaced. (Pic is of what it replaced)
Let me know if this review helped when you get it.

Luckily, I was able to find the tool I needed, but replacing it without the right tool was quite challenging
5/5

A mini ratcheting screwdriver is a good investment. When my windshield on my 2011 Chevrolet Traverse was getting foggy or not defrosting, I realized I had an issue. I looked at the problem and realized that this actuator must be faulty, as the issue appears to be quite prevalent. There are reports that dealers charge up to $600 to repair this vehicle, so I thought I would try to repair It can be found on several forums or YouTube videos that describe the procedure of replacing a disc. You will need to remove the glove box and the protective Basically, this part was straightforward and went off without a hitch. As difficult as it was to remove the screws that secure the actuator, I tried taking it out with a screwdriver I had trouble turning the screws holding the bit with my fingers when I had the 20 bit connected to several drivers. Over the course of two evenings, I was only capable of removing one of the three screws holding the actuator in place. The thought of giving up crossed my mind. Having large hands, I simply could not loosen the screw holding the glove box, and the space to the left and above the glove box is extremely tight. None of my tools fit tightly within this space, and I had no way to loosen it. After studying the problem, it was determined that a miniature ratchet attached to a T-shaped handle could easily handle it I had no other choice but to use 20 bits to successfully repair the file. My husband and I found the following ratchet on Amazon and ordered it with next-day shipping via Amazon Prime Neiko 03044A Mini Ratcheting Screwdriver and Bit Set, Pocket Size Close-Tolerance, 45 degree Head, 38-Point x 12 cm The first quarter of each year, 14- Seven dollars was all I spent on the USB drive. In this set, you'll find a T-handle ratchet, a T-nut ratchet, and a K-handle ratchet I inserted a 20 bit into the screw head and slowly removed the remaining screws using the tool, once the bit was seated in the screw head. Seeing that the defective unit had been found was a delight to me. Replacement of the defective part was completed. I shouldn't have been surprised that putting the screws back in place was challenging. This area is very tight, and it took a few attempts to fit everything in. I used the mini ratchet to set the screws, and everything went back into place, so my AC in my car now functions at full capacity. This product resolved my problem and I'm saving myself several hundred dollars at the same time. Rating the product five stars because it solved my issue and it solved my problem. I spent five hours trying to fix the device before I realized that with the right tool the issue was solved in an hour. This was a very important repair to make, so I am very satisfied with my work. am capable of some mechanical work, but not when it comes to.

on the 2012 GMC Acadia where an actuator had failed
5/5

The actuator was broken on my 2012 GMC Acadia, so I needed to replace it. In defrost mode, the air conditioning would not turn off. However, I was not able to tell whether the positions of the vents had changed after I cycled through the modes on the display. There was no way I would pay $500 for this to be fixed professionally when I could do it myself for only $42. It only took me an hour of my time to execute it and one small ratchet set that another poster mentioned, and I now have a functioning It's not gonna be a I had to do a lot of Obviously, my hand was a bit roughed up by trying to jam it in the small compartment by the glovebox, but it was so worth it considering the I am very pleased with the new part. I should note It was a matter of self-determination for me) able to handle things Hope you have a great day!.

I don't like installing this at all, but at least I can fix it! There was a problem with my blend door (which switches between dash vents, feet, and defrost on the upper dash) and nothing happened across the board when I changed directions in the electronic HVAC panel
5/5

On my 2012 Chevy Traverse (LTZ) with automatic dual zone climate control, it appears this actuator controls vent direction and blend door controls it does NOT change the temperature. I am a woman between 20 and 30 3) are a bit difficult to access and require small hands and If you get a new actuator installed, you need turn the car on and pull the HVAC fuse in the fuse panel under the passenger foot well (under the dash) for several minutes so that it can learn its position.

I like it, it works, and it solved my problem
5/5

I had a moderately difficult time installing it, but at a great price, since my mechanic gave me an estimate of $300 for parts and labor. I was unable to toggle vents from top to bottom, was stuck on top vents only. With this change, I now see bottom vents as well. Installers should be aware of the following warning There are tight corners, difficult angles, use a magnetic screwdriver to avoid dropping a screw. There is a tight area to work in, difficult to see, awkward angles. I would estimate a 45-minute timeframe from the beginning of the screw removal to the end installing the last screw If someone searches for or watches YouTube videos for assistance like I did, it takes 1-1/2 hours.
