The tailgate seal on a 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 was installed by me. I love how easy it is to install and it
Hello Darrell, over the past few months it has been hard to remember the length of the roll, wondering what my best guess would be? There was a 1" inch width to the frame. It is my regret that I am unable to answer your question. I hope you are doing Have a safe journey!
There are exceptions to this rule, including Ford Ranger 2019 and newer vehicles. Tailgate Seal with Taper Seal is a specific kind of seal developed by ESI due to the large tailgate gap. You can view the ASIN here

After I made an initial review, the company contacted me so that we could discuss our situation. I was sent a slice of paper on how the product should be measured to determine if my unit was defective. Mine turned out to be okay. They then asked me how it was installed, and I sent them photos of the gap I noticed. As a final note, they recently sent me another kit to help fill any gaps I was experiencing, probably due to the way I did the installation. It's amazing how much I enjoy hearing when a company tries to determine the root of its problems and resolves them. A second purchase from this company would be a good idea.
I was contacted within a few days of experiencing an issue and the issue was resolved within a few hours. The original installation of the program did not last very long. The online instructions are definitely better. It had been very helpful, but I was disappointed that when I followed the instructions that I could not get my truck to hold the seal. It turns out that the gap between the tailgate and the body is quite tight on Silverados. The seal will seal well and not roll down if you invert it so the bubble is pointed down just on the tailgate piece. I suggest that you use the small test strips suggested online in the instructions. We installed it a few days ago. Since then, we haven't seen any signs of it rolling or coming off. It is a very good product, and I am also very happy with the company behind it. It's clear that they understand what customer service is all Please accept my thanks.
Upon installing a flip-out screen, I became aware of the need for this product My Toyota Tacoma has a bed cover of this type. During my ownership of my old Chevrolet Colorado, it was fitted with a Swiss lift - I had an oversized, foldable cover that overlapped the tailgate and both rails and unfailingly kept the bed dry during the 11 years of service. It's time to flip the script These types of covers do a good job, but are not watertight. They are the kind I have, which do not overlap the tailgate, so water can readily leak in around the tailgate because manufacturers do not apply door seals In addition to the product, I believe truck makers should also take steps to alleviate this problem. This seller will provide the sealing material and other stuff needed to do a professional installation. It appears that users who are not satisfied with the product fall into one of two categories. A lot of the material did not adhere to the truck, so it refused to work, or the brand did not have enough to finish When a sealer fails to adhere or seal, I think that it is usually a result of the customer failing to follow directions scrupulously. A good seller will clearly explain to you that prior to applying the sealer, you should thoroughly wash the area with soap and water, after which you should also use alcohol to clean it. Even an alcohol towelette is included with the listing to be used for this In the photo spread for each of about 15 or 16 trucks for which the product was cut to the correct size, once the products had been cut to the correct size. Decide which is your favorite The key is to FIRMLY press the sealer adhesive onto the truck and give it at least 24 hours to cure. After the testing guide has been followed, and has been correctly positioned, the next step is to FIRMLY press the sealer adhesive onto the truck. This is the measure - The first time you do it The following are the main points People who have already purchased two or more of these are unlikely to benefit, and I would suggest such buyers find an automotive repair shop or truck supply house to perform their installation. For the second case of insufficient content, I believe that these customers may have a point, and that is why I gave these customers only I realized that "small" trucks like the Colorado I had were having growth pains in the past ten years when I bought my Tacoma. Approximately 10 years ago, the Silverado was a larger car than the Colorado is today. Material shortage is typically cited as an issue by those complaining about large-scale projects The format for trucks is Choosing between the Silverado, the Tundra, or the 150. Perhaps the trucks have gotten larger since this seller began marketing and that in order to adequately seal these larger trucks, an extra foot or two might be required. The cost of the material might be too high to just throw in another foot or two, so perhaps most of the job can be done with a "big truck" product at a few dollars more. As a rule, I recommend that the seller re-list the item You may want to determine whether ten feet is enough for all Even after several weeks and a number of rainy days, I'm not complaining. With this product, even during heavy rain, the tailgate area is effectively sealed from water leakage, and the installation documentation, both written and especially the model-specific ones, are made very clear and easy to understand. I am impressed with the model photos provided by the seller on his website. This is a recommended book!.
Moreover, the gap between the tailgate and the sides of the bed are quite large on my truck, so I wanted to get more insulation by using this. There were about 90 people in attendance By following the instructions, I was able to close 95 percent of the gap and stick firmly to the bed. Obviously, it is going to cut down on the dust getting back there, and I think it is also going to keep cold drafts away. I will wait until late September to test my theory by going to Glacier Park and Lake Louise when temperatures will be in the low to mid 20's overnight.
It was used to help seal my trifold tonneau cover so my bunker gear and SCBAs will remain out of the elements and protected from the weather in my 2018 Ram 1500. Despite the fact that this product seems to be well made and is definitely sticky, the instructions are pretty weak. Although I used both the paper slip that came with it as well as the one that is posted on their website, I found their explanations to be lacking and leaving a lot to be desired. In the photo, the most open part was the top corners of the tailgate, which were still only hardly sealed when placed the way they were. As it turned out, I had to go back and re-adjust and add more tape to achieve In terms of the seal at the bottom, the tailgate to the bed is the worst. My tailgate was working well at the beginning, but after my tailgate has been used about a dozen times, it has twisted and peeled off from friction. This product is the best I've found so far and definitely worth buying again, even though it is a bit pricey. There's just no reason why it couldn't have been done correctly.
