Whenever the back door opens, there is a draft coming to the front seats of my Chevy van, which reaches the front seats through the back. The only thing I knew was that it had to do with the wind and the doors. I'm not a big car fanatic or a mechanic, so I had no idea what I needed. Then my hubby told me what it was, and of course I went straight to Amazon ( where else would I ever go ) and found this rubber piece that looked correct to me, so I ordered it and we are here. I do not know much about quality rubber seals, install them correctly or whether my seal is as durable as a higher priced seal. I did not do the rain sleet snow test, so I can only judge by appearance and I thought it looked good. As well, I ordered the 20ft seal, which was way more than enough for the back door area. My husband cut part of it and used the rest for the sliding door on the side. Overall it looks good, the price was quite reasonable, I did not feel like I was ripped off, and the delivery was quick.
This is an easy-to-install product. The front compartment of a jet ski was used for this purpose. One thing I don't like about it is that it is made of steel. The thing I bought was already damaged, but I knew that. Otherwise, it's fine. I may have to replace it every two or three years, which is okay for its price. A 10' piece of wood is long enough for two reinstallations.
During the resealing of my boat's engine compartment, this product was used. This product is pretty heavy, and the metal insert contributes to its heft. It also seated very well because the fiberglass was about 1/4 inch thick.
The tape worked perfectly to seal the trunk of my canam spider, with enough left over for the trunk of my car.
A 1990 BMW 325i had worthless door seals, so I replaced them with this product. Lie the door rubber on top of the rocker panel plastic and loosen the plastic. We did not want to spend thousands of dollars on OEM parts for this car, since it is not concourse. The aim of the project was to seal the outside against wind noise and deaden wind noise.
The gasket, which I used inside the trunk of my Jetta, worked great.
To seal the top of my Polaris General windshield, I used this product. It worked beautifully!.
