The Jeep Wrangler (2014) my son and I own is a 2014 model. Arizona heat is a problem that we were able to solve with Mopar headliners. The stock hardtop allows a lot of heat to pass through. Our plan was to use this mat before the liner so that we can control sound and improve heat penetration a little. Here are photos of the Jeep my son has. I have found this product to work very well and apply easily. It comes with a wooden handle set, 3 rollers, and is specially designed to roll down the roof. Everything went smoothly. The top actually came off, and we turned it upside down to make it simpler to apply. There seems to have been a lot of progress so far. Likewise, my son says he hears a vast improvement with his sound system.

Although it adheres well and dampens sound decently, you will often smell it when using it in a cab. There is a strong smell to it, like any asphalt roofing product. I read one review that said that it does not smell, but I did my truck's roof behind the headliner, and it is definitely noticeable even in the cold weather. Although it won't come off, I will live with the fact that it may become overwhelming when it becomes hot outside. Like I said, it probably won't come off so I will live with it. Despite my expectations, I didn't find that there was a great deal of sound deadening. There is a deceptive amount of weight to this material. In my current project, I am constructing a van- Every pound counts as we are running out of time. Checked the specs ahead of time, and no odor was detected - I should have. The plus side is that.

Although it isn't quite as good as Dynamite Xtreme, it is a fraction of the cost. I doubled up in the areas with the highest noise levels and it's like driving a brand new car! I can't recommend this.

Before installing an entire sound system, I used a full box mounted on my mustang. Cleared up a few things. The second box I ordered I am using on my Chevy truck. There is, however, a terrible smell. Rolling out foil is difficult because the top layer is very thin, splits when rolled. The smell reminds me of burned plastic, kind of horrifying. It's been one week since my install and still there is that smell. It's easy to be fooled by smells. It makes you check your electronics to see if there is a problem.

Granted, it does not perform as well as products such as second skin that are quadruple the price. But when you consider how cheap it is, it has good performance. 90% of my trunk rattles have been eliminated and my door speakers sound much better since installing it. The product is excellent I recommend it highly.
