I don't think this will add to the drag. It's a step up from the original part in terms of fit and finish.
It doesn't seem to fit the Y in any way.
Front
That's what I believe. I decided to return it and buy a front and rear from RPM Tesla, which had both for around $400 including shipping. I have a 2021, and they fit perfectly. br>After my Model Y was completely destroyed by a falling rock, I needed something more durable than plastic. The simple loss of a cooling tube from a rock necessitates a $18,000 battery replacement.

Three fasteners, washers, and a body clip are included in the package. After driving through a heavy rainstorm, the factory-supplied flimsy fabric gave up. According to what I've read online, this isn't uncommon, isn't covered by Tesla's warranty, and costs around $300 to replace at Tesla. On a Performance 3, I ordered it and installed it myself. I used ramps to prop up the car because it's difficult to jack the Tesla from both sides without a special stand (see link below). Total time is 30 minutes and the cost is $270. They also come with three fasteners and washers in case you lose yours. They were hidden in the packaging, which I only discovered when I went to recycle it. They would have saved me the trouble of going to the auto parts store to get the ones I needed. Without a doubt, this plate will provide better protection for the transmission oil filter and other components in the event of road debris. Link to the ramp.
Background information: br>First and foremost, it's fantastic that this option exists for anyone to purchase something through Amazon in such a convenient manner! I'd have no idea where to begin searching for a Tesla replacement. While driving from Seattle to the Bay Area, my OEM guard plate ripped in half. I had to pull over when it began to make a lot of wind noise. Fortunately, I had a roll of duct tape in the car, so I quickly taped it up so it wouldn't hang and cause drag. When I finally called Tesla to schedule an appointment, I was given a month's notice and a $500 estimate. Advantages: br>br> br>As long as you have something to get under the car, the installation was relatively simple. It consisted of approximately 8 10mm screws, washers, and two larger nuts, as well as new washers and four additional screws in case the old ones were lost or damaged. It was as easy as removing all of the old ones and replacing them with new ones. This is a solid material. br>br> I can't speak to its durability because I just put it in, but I can assure you that it will not tear in half like my old one did. If aesthetics under the car are a factor at all, it also looks pretty sleek and blends in nicely with the battery pack cover. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The only disadvantages I can think of are the instructions. It's pretty self-explanatory. Because it looks nearly identical to the old piece, it comes with instructions on how to install it. However, there was a separate metal piece for which I had no idea what it was used for. Because I have a 2018 Model 3, I'm guessing it's only for newer cars. In addition to the screws and washers, there were some gold clips included that I had no idea what to do with. TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR: TLDR br>High quality, easy to install, and less expensive than Tesla service if you're willing to put in a little effort. seriously, very little effort; simply raise the car, remove the old screws, install the new plate, and screw it in.
I called the Tesla shop to have my factory aeroshield on my 2018 Tesla Model 3 replaced when it failed. For more than a month, they couldn't get me in. I was on the lookout for an alternative, and this product delivered. It arrived within a few days, and I was able to install it in less than 30 minutes. This product is far superior to the original from the manufacturer. It's made of heavy aluminum and steel. The swap out was a breeze after I set up my Model 3 on ramps. I'm glad I chose this product instead of a dealership replacement.
