The outside diameter is greater than a quarter of an inch. Because this is a 3/8" hose, I'd recommend looking for a 1/4" ID hose to use with that connector.
It's made of the same silicone that's used in ovens; I use it on my car's vacuum system and haven't had any problems, so it shouldn't be an issue with a furnace.
To keep it from collapsing, there isn't any fabric reinforcement braid. It's possible that it will work, but I'm not sure.
This hose has a 10mm outside diameter.

I'd inflate the system to 30 psi, then let it deflate to 15 psi the next day. I replaced all of my fittings and parts, as well as purchasing better clamps, but nothing worked. After spending an exorbitant amount of money and time on this, I suspected the hose was to blame, so I used some extra hose, capped it with 40 psi, and added a gauge to see if that was the case. I then immersed it in water to put my theory to the test, and I noticed air bubbles slowly forming all over the hose. Through the material itself, air is slowly breathing. Over the course of three hours, I lost 20 pounds of pressure. br>It even leaks at 10 pounds of pressure! br>I understand that not everyone would use this hose for a similar application, but I believe this illustrates how low-quality this material is, and I would not recommend it to everyone. For the same money, you can get a much better hose.
There are a LOT of vacuum hoses all over these models. After seeing a few that had simply disintegrated over time, I began ripping vacuum hoses out and replacing any that appeared cracked or old, which was pretty much all of them. The hose appears to be sturdy, as it slides on easily and stays in place. As a result of the high temperature, it's necessary to keep a close eye on the engine. Everything appears to be in working order, and the Check Engine light has gone off, and she is running smoothly. Hose was even able to stretch to fit a few slightly larger hoses. I simply slit the side opening and it was as snug as a sock. You can get this at a parts store, but I prefer it when it comes right to my door and I don't have to wait in line or pay more for inferior service.
F150 and Bronco from 1996. This product is flexible enough to fit over your white vacuum hoses on early to mid-90s Ford F150s and Broncos. I didn't need to use any sealant because the white hose fit perfectly inside of this product, and I'll buy more when I need them. Once installed, it creates a nice tight fit, and my defrost function is back to normal. If you own one of the vehicles listed above, this hose is a must-have because you will need it at some point.
br>br>The product is excellent and can be used in high-temperature environments.
The quality of the product appears to be excellent. Time will tell, as it always does. Tubing from a low-cost parts store has a thicker wall. On a 2001 S10 Blazer, I needed to repair my 4wd vacuum. Works! A problem arose for the seller, which he promptly resolved.
I was so concerned that I read a lot of negative feedback. The silicone is excellent; it can easily hold 20 psi. My vac system is now in perfect working order. Shipping was very quick. Packing was excellent. Very good quality!.
Please see photos of a correct 1/8" tubing (on the right) and this item (on the left) to see how the diameter of this item differs from what is described.
It's ridiculously thick and incredibly soft, and it kinks easily around a bend, causing vacuum problems for the engine.
