You will be disappointed if you try to imitate the guy in the YouTube video who clamped a barbed fitting in a vice and hammered a hose onto it with a 2x4. A tapered snout threads into the hose beneath the finished collar. To fully seat the hose, you'll need two wrenches, but the wood can be left for someone else to use. br>br>The Russell hose that this connects to is a little tricky to cut, but it's a breeze to install for a high-pressure, leak-proof system. Using an abrasive saw or a hacksaw, cut the hose, unthread the collar, and then left-hand-cut the hose. Hand-thread that onto the hose OD, lubricate the hose ID, and then right-thread it. Hand-thread the fitting until it is fully seated in the hose ID. Make sure to clean out the assembled hose, as hose cuttings have a tendency to get stuck inside. I used WD-40 instead of the special lube recommended in the instructions. Use a tube or box wrench on these and the anodized finish will not be damaged. br>br> A leak-proof connection does not require a lot of torque. They're also re-usable. used on a variety of hose lengths and reassembled several times.

When it comes to AN fittings, Russel is the only way to go. In my heavily modified 2017 Subaru STI, I only use Russell fittings. They're the only ones you should think about. Yes, they are a little more expensive than the competition, but when it comes to fittings, flammable liquids, and expensive toys, the price difference is negligible. RUSSELL IS THE WAY TO GO.

Worked with existing fittings from another well-known brand; smooth operation, no leaks, and simple to install. It looks fantastic. I'd prefer to use this brand over others that are more expensive.
