There is no problem using diesel fuel in it. E85 fuel, however, does not meet this requirement.
It is better to have a clamp that holds your hose permanently rather than having a worm screw clamp on a cooler connection. I had to use a worm screw clamp on an oil cooler connection, so I prefer the permanence of a crushed ear clamp.
To make the cut, I tape painters tape over the area to be cut, then use a rotary tool such as a Dremel with a cutting wheel. As you remove the tape, begin from the uncut edge and work your way to the cut edge to prevent Connectors should be inserted before the tape is removed if AN fittings are being fitted.
