There is no problem using diesel fuel in it. E85 fuel, however, does not meet this requirement.
It is better to have a clamp that holds your hose permanently rather than having a worm screw clamp on a cooler connection. I had to use a worm screw clamp on an oil cooler connection, so I prefer the permanence of a crushed ear clamp.
To make the cut, I tape painters tape over the area to be cut, then use a rotary tool such as a Dremel with a cutting wheel.
