My lawn tractor was slow to start due to a lack of gas, so I used this primer bulb. It now starts in a matter of seconds every time, and I chose this product because I have years of boating experience and know to avoid the lower-cost Chinese imports. The gas line is kept primed near the carburetor thanks to an internal check valve. This is a tough, dependable primer bulb that will last a long time. I've been using it for a year and have had no issues.
Other low-cost Chinese knockoffs have an appealing price, but the rubber splits after a few months and cannot withstand prolonged exposure to gasoline or UV rays. Unless you get one from an OEM boat engine manufacturer like OMC or Yamaha, these Attwood units last a long time and are the best on the market. I use it on my John Deere lawnmower, which has always been difficult to start after sitting for more than a day since it was new. Now I squeeze it twice and it instantly turns on.
The bulb is made of durable materials. My mechanical fuel pump was simply not up to the task. I needed something to both prime it and prevent the fuel from returning to the tank. The answer came in the form of a directional flow priming bulb. Now that that's taken care of, I can turn my attention to the next issue: rewiring the entire goddamn ignition harness.
It is, however, a pumper in terms of function.
This is the only brand of squeeze bulb you should buy. The others simply do not hold up, so spending the extra money is well worth it.
👍.
It performs as expected.
How many stars do you award a product that does not function properly? Unfortunately, you will not be able to give ZERO! I didn't get a chance to try it before the return window closed, so I now have a useless piece of junk to remind me to try all of my future purchases when they arrive. Live and learn, but don't buy one of these!.
