The amount of pressure you apply to the bags will determine how long they last. These were on my previous truck, and they raised the rear end by about 4", but the ride was extremely rough.
It includes a compressor, as well as controls and an inside gauge. There is also a manual air supply inlet (mine is on the trailer control box) that allows you to fill it without the use of a compressor. I suppose in the event that the compressor fails. This is a fantastic system. and the compressor controller (inside the cab; mine is right on the dashboard) will compress air at 4 pounds automatically. , and can be set to cut off at 30 pounds (at least, that's how mine is set). This is fantastic!
That's what I have on my 2005 Silverado 4x4 1500, so you'll be fine.
I had a similar experience. My 2005 GMC Z71 was not listed on Amazon as a direct fit, but Airlift listed kit 57272 as a direct fit. I confirmed it by calling Airlift. Because I haven't installed it yet, I can't say if it fits or not. I'm waiting for the weather to warm up a little bit.

I tow a 24' camper weighing around 6500 lbs and run about 50 lbs of air in the bags, and it took about 2 hours to install on my 2004 z71 Silverado. It provides the rear-end support my truck requires to avoid sagging and aids in turning and braking stability. This is something I wish I had purchased a year ago.
They've been designed to be the perfect fit for the job. Everything required for installation is included in the kit. Only the wrenches and a method for cutting the tube square are required. For a perfect seal, tube cutting is crucial. If connecting the air inlet to the bumper or another stable surface, you'll need a good hand drill. There are zip ties included in the package.
My purchase has made me extremely happy. The installation was simple, but I am a mechanically inclined person. The installation, in my opinion, is a simple bolt-on operation. There is no need for drilling or fabrication, and the instructions are simple to follow. The components in the Air Lift kit are of high quality. I started by inflating the air bags to 50 psi and letting them sit for a while. I looked for a drop in pressure the next day, but there wasn't any. I drove 200 miles with the bags set to 50, and my 1/2-ton truck rode stiffly like a one-ton truck. Towing my boat at 15, 30 psi, and towing my nearly 6000lb camper at 45 psi gave me the best ride comfort. Air Lift suspension is, in my opinion, well worth the money.
It was simple to install the Air Lift kit. The instructions are simple to follow, and all of the pieces fit together perfectly. Instead of using two valve stems, I used a tee on the airline. This isn't included with the kit, but it's easy to find online or in a parts store. It took me roughly 6 hours to complete the installation. in the basement of my house To install them, you'll need mechanical knowledge, tools, and a working space. br>They work flawlessly.
They lasted ten years before the rubber on one of the bags cracked. I replaced the bag and was back on my feet. This is an excellent product.
I was still getting about an inch of sag in the back despite having a properly installed weight distributing hitch. Nobody wants to have a saggy back! =P It took me less than an hour to put it together, and the truck sits perfectly level and adjusts easily to all three of my trailers.
Aside from that, they're great and I'd recommend them. They're also fairly simple to set up if you don't have the same issue I did.
I haven't had the opportunity to put them to the test yet while towing my travel trailer with an ATV in the pickup. So far, they've done an excellent job of leveling my pickup while hauling my ATV loaded down with extra fuel. I've driven on both paved and gravel (some washboard) roads and have been pleased with how stable the vehicle handles. I installed an electric pump with a remote so that I can adjust the air pressure on the fly as needed, rather than having to stop and manually inflate or deflate the airbags. The only drawback is that the bags require a minimum of 5 pounds of air pressure, which made for a stiffer ride when empty on my half-ton pickup. I'm looking to purchase a new pickup truck with a larger engine and will undoubtedly install an air lift load lifter.
