Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with a 16" rim?

They certainly ought to. These rotors are a direct replacement for my old stock rotors and are the same size.

How much is the caliper's core charge?

There is no charge in the core. Just wanted to give you a heads up on something. When you first receive your kit, double-check all of the parts. My parts were a mishmash, so I had to order a replacement kit.

Will these be sufficient for a JKU in 2016?

They should fit, according to the Power Stops website. I feel compelled to warn you that the packaging of these items leaves a lot to be desired. Because the box had come open, the calipers were missing when my Amazon package arrived. They don't come in a particularly sturdy box. Replacements were sent by Amazon, but the process was still inconvenient.

What is the diameter of the rotors?

The front brake rotors are 302mm in diameter, while the rear brake rotors are 316mm in diameter.

My Jeep JK looks great with this
5/5

I put these on my Jeep JK about a year ago, and they've performed admirably. The job of repairing brakes is relatively simple. Watch a YouTube video if you have never done so before. This is within your grasp! br>br>These brakes definitely stop better than my stock brakes, and after a year, the pads have barely worn. This set does not produce any squeaking noises. I would recommend it to others and would buy it again if the opportunity arose. br>br>***************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** When it asks if the review was helpful, please click "helpful" to show your appreciation!.

On my Jeep JKUR with 37's, there is a noticeable improvement, but it quickly wears down
4/5

ORIGINAL REVIEWbr>br>At local parts stores, generic rotors range from $50 to $100. Store- Dust-free pads from a reputable brand can cost upwards of $60. So a complete brake job with mediocre parts will set you back $320 or more, and a trip to the dealer will set you back much more. br>br>For just a few dollars more than generic store brand parts, the Power Stop Extreme kit includes drilled and slotted rotors and high performance dust-free pads, high temperature guide lubricant, new clips and boots for your calipers. However, this isn't a generic performance. br>br>I put these on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and they look great. I needed new brakes because my old pads had worn out and I'd recently upgraded from 35" to 37" tires. br>br>I've done brake installations before, and these went in without a hitch. I went through a period of transition. I was disappointed that these brakes didn't even appear to be as good as stock while I was in the process of installing them. So I dialed Power Stop for help, and after speaking with someone quickly, he suggested that I try breaking them in again and giving them some time to settle in. I'm glad I took the opportunity to do so. I was able to get my tires to howl after 25 miles on the new brakes. After another 50 miles of driving, I was finally able to get the ABS to engage. on a dry patch of asphalt I was a little taken aback because I couldn't get my ABS to turn on. Before upgrading to 37's, in on dry pavement. Unless you have the money to spend on a Big Brake upgrade, Power Stop appears to be the way to go if you have a Jeep JK with big tires and want to improve your stopping power.

There is a significant distinction
5/5

For the past month, I've been using these. On first glance, the stopping distances appear to be quite different. My Jeep JKU Rubicon is 14 years old and has a 3. 0 liter engine. With a 5" lift, 35s, and nearly 800 lbs of aftermarket steel (bumpers, skids, winch, etc), stopping with the stock rotors and pads took a long time. A huge step forward! It even stops the Jeep without issue on the steepest descents (the Jeep would still crawl slowly unless I took it out of gear with the stock suspension). After the installation, the pedal is softer, but it stops quickly and smoothly. There will be no brake dust!! I understand that the pads will wear out much faster, but I believe the added safety is worth it. I would highly recommend this set, and I doubt you will find anything else at this price point that is as good. If any problems arise, I'll update my review.

What a difference, oh my God
4/5

I've had my jeep for about a year and have upgraded to this brake kit because I've upgraded my jeep a lot since it was stock, adding bigger bumpers, armor, and 35 inch tires, and the jeep was becoming very dangerous and annoying to drive, requiring me to slam on the brakes to stop. For the most part, the package arrived in good condition, with some dents but no missing items. Considering these are upgraded oem style replacements, the installation was a very simple job that anyone could do. Bolts off, new stuff in, bolts on. Simple and well worth the time, the package includes everything you need with a little extra, so you really don't need anything else except possibly some extra brake lube. Also, make sure you break everything in properly; the instructions on their website explain it very well. br>br>At first, I was concerned that this would be a waste of money for oem parts that I could get for half the price; however, the stuff I took out was all in good shape, and I have to say it stops on a dime now, wayyyyy better than before, so there is no gimmick here; these are an upgrade over stock for sure without This isn't a first-day review because I received them four months ago. These brakes stop the jeep better than stock brakes, and I'd say this kit is capable of stopping a jeep with 37s just fine. I'm very pleased with the quality.
