Questions & Answers

Is it necessary to replace the oil pressure sensor as well? Is it true that after changing the pump, my pressure readings are lower?

If you're unsure about the pressure, go to a store. I've had problems with carbon clogging up my screen and have had to clean it out several times. br>On my 6, I also had to replace the oil pickup pipe and the pump. 0br>It's worth noting that a standard balancer puller will not fit a 6. Sumit is in possession of a pulley.

Is this appropriate for a 6? And you have two engines?

It was a perfect fit for my 2005 6! 0 lq4 I am not 100 % sure but I believe it will happen. Investigate the forums to see if they can assist you.

IN MY 2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 4x4 5, THE OIL PUMP FIXED THE TICKING PROBLEM
5/5

LTZ Flex Fuel 3L My 2005 Chevy Avalanche Z71 4x4 LTZ Flex Fuel Truck's ticking was fixed perfectly by the oil pump. br>br>I was experiencing some symptoms that were attributed to a lifter knock by everyone. To get it to stop, I was told I needed to replace the lifters and the camshaft. The following are the signs and symptoms I was experiencing: br>Ticking under the hoodbr>Oil pressure gauge fluctuation (down to zero when idling/cold and constantly fluctuating while driving)br>br>I knew it wasn't the oil pressure sensor because I had replaced it. After removing the pan and plate underneath, I started working on the project but didn't buy any parts until I checked for metal shavings in the oil pan and looked at the camshaft through the oil pan. I manually turned the engine over to inspect the camshaft, which appeared to be smooth and glassy. I knew it couldn't have been lifter knock because there were no metal shavings in the oil pan. (You're looking for a lot of metal shavings here, but mine didn't have any. ) Instead, I chose to replace the oil pump and o-rings. ring. The ticking had stopped after a week's worth of work (which included ordering and waiting for parts). The issue had to do with the oil pump. There isn't any more ticking. My vehicle is in excellent condition. Actually, it's better now than it was when I first purchased it. I did a full moon trunion upgrade because Chevy put cheap half-moon trunions on my truck when it had 150,000 miles on it. I also replaced the LS's moon trunions, which are prone to breaking and causing more engine damage, as well as the pushrods. I went from a grade of 7 to a grade of 8. 393 to 7. There are 400 pushrods total. These are, however, improvements. If you want to keep your motor running and avoid having to pay for expensive repairs because the cheap ones break, you may need to upgrade your trunion at some point. Essentially, if your truck is ticking and you just want it to stop, I would look at the symptoms above and, if you don't see any metal shavings, the ticking is most likely coming from the oil pump. Oil pump and o-rings should be replaced. The ticking will stop if you put a ring on the inlet tube of the oil pump. My truck was saved by this oil pump. Thank you very much:.

It was perfect for my 2000 Silverado! On my 2000 Silverado 5, I was replacing the cam and head
5/5

The motor has about 270,000 miles on it, and I figured that since I was there, I might as well change the cam and timing chain. The oe kept good pressure but would slowly loose a little around 30% oil life left on monitor (37psi idle 45 cruise speed) After a warm-up period at cruise speeds, it holds 60 pounds and 42 pounds respectively. At idle, the speed is 45. I've never had a problem with Melling oil pumps! br>Update 5/2/2019: 5700 miles since installation and still holding great psi 42 hot idle 57- Cruise speed of 60 psi (50-70 mph) 70). br>Update 10/19/2020: Since installing the pump, I've driven about 23,000 miles total. Still holding up well and at the same psi as before (around 42 idle, 57-58 when fully loaded). No issues (cruising at 60 mph).

A much-needed oil pump for the Vortec V8, this is a fantastic product
5/5

Here, as in many other places, there are a lot of written reviews. When the mileage is high, the oil pressure drops. Additionally, if the vehicle is traveling up or down a hill, the valves will begin to tick incessantly. Some say it's the oil ring around the pick-up tube or a bad pump, but I've done all the research. I made the decision to replace everything as a single unit. My car is a 2004 GMC Envoy XL with the VIN number P 5. 3L LM4) The front diff, intermediate shaft, and axle disconnect are all connected to the oil pan, which adds to the vehicle's overall difficulty. Unlike full-size GM trucks such as the Tahoe/Suburban/C or K Series pick-up trucks, the Tahoe/Suburban/C or K Series pick-up trucks are available in a variety of colors There is a problem with their 4wd system because it is not connected to the oil pan. The GMT 360/370 Chevy Trailblazer/ GMC Envoy/ Buick Rainer/ Saab 9-Series is a mid-size SUV built by GMT. The engine compartment on the 7 X/ Isuzu Ascender is tighter. But, in general, I'm pleased with how well this pump is supplying oil to the engine; there's no more ticking up and down hills. If you owe a GMT 360/370, expect to pay a lot of money for a shop to fix it, or do what I did and do it yourself. With 340k miles on it, the engine is in great shape. New timing cover, new oil pump, and new timing chain with sprockets.

Only compatible with Gen 3 LS engines! This was designed for the 1999-2000 school year
4/5

2007 4. 8/5. 3/6. If your Gen 4 LS (2005 and up) has active fuel management/cylinder deactivation, you'll need the Melling M365 or M10355HV, which provide the proper oil pressure and volume. br>br>Came in a genuine Melling sealed box, and the part was in excellent condition. br>br>Don't make the same mistake as me and order twice. Now I just need to find an older LS to put this on.

Upgrades to the aftermarket are highly recommended
5/5

This high-quality Melling Performance oil pump has the best price and is delivered quickly. Brand new and expertly crafted. My 2010 GMC Sierra 5 had no problems with the installation. To disassemble, you'll need a T35 torx bit.

Oil pressure is excellent
5/5

My H2 6 from 2007. Low oil pressure lights were constantly flashing on 0's dashboard. This Melling pump is the STD model, which means it doesn't have a lot of volume or pressure. Never, ever drive a vehicle! had a fantastic time! Prior to 20 psi, the oil pressure was lower. Now at a pressure of 400 pounds per square inch (PSI). The truck is in excellent condition and performs admirably. Thank you, it's as if it's been given a new lease on life.

I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a good deal
5/5

My oil pressure was restored, but I believe the real issue was that the o-ring had come loose. The ring on the suction tube was very loose and would suck air when the engine was cold; after the engine warmed up, it had adequate oil pressure, but the new OIL PUMP increased pressure by about 20 pounds to 55 psi. An engine cradle was used to lift the motor so that the oil pan could be removed without affecting the front differential.

Melling pumps do exactly what they are supposed to do
5/5

I installed a set of four main bearings and a full set of eight rod bearings in this oil pump for a stock motor. At 70 mph and 2,000 rpm, the motor has 225,000 and 60 psi. At idle, I have 40 psi. Melling pumps are the only pumps I've ever trusted.
