BBK 3503 Twin 61mm Throttle Body - High Flow Power Plus Series For Ford F Series Truck And SUV 302, 351

This throttle body was purchased because mine had a vacuum leak at the linkage lever, and it was literally the only throttle body available. I was hesitant to order at first after reading the comments about the lack of package insulation causing it to be damaged. Well, I was correct; the package I received was an Amazon box with a smaller bbk box inside, but instead of bubble wrap or anything else that would actually absorb impact from a drop, they used paper. My initial reaction was pure frustration when I opened the bbk box. My truck's extra vacuum ports were bent during shipping, so I capped them. Because this throttle body is 61mm instead of 55mm, it comes with new mounting hardware with Allen key heads. You can't reuse the original hardware, so be prepared. The coolant ports are also a little shorter than the original, so I had to go to the parts store and get a foot of bulk 3/8th hose for the bottom port (the top one was fine). So far, it's running great, with no leaks during idle like I had before; I haven't driven it yet because I need to reset my tps sensor, but I'll let you know if anything happens. Is it worth $400? Probably not, but it was the only alternative that was available.

This part has been in my possession for a few months. I finally decided to put it in, so I took the old one out. The throttle position sensor and the air bypass valve were both removed. I purchased a new throttle position sensor, but there were no new screws included with the sensor or the throttle intake. As a result, old ones should be used. Then I installed the old air valve because the intake kit didn't come with a new gasket. I needed to go to the auto parts store, so I went there. Then I went to seal the two extra vacuum ports; they sent caps, but only the larger size, which was way too big, so I had to go to the auto parts store again. So now I'm ready to put it together, and the bolts they sent only go a quarter inch through the body to the manifold. The old bolts could only pass through a 5/8-inch hole. So now I'm going to a specialty fastener store because I'm in need of allen style heads. I go to install the throttle body again, but this time the coolant nipple hits the alternator on the lower end. As a result, I'm at a loss for what to do. Turning and bending up the nipple is required. So now there's a new stumbling block, and I'll have to wait and see what the company does. I'll post an update as soon as I have something new to say.

When I first opened it, it appeared to be in excellent condition. I'm all set to go. When I started the engine, the water port inlet opened and antifreeze spilled all over the place. It was fixed with a small hammer, some black gasket silicone, and 12 hours of drying time. In terms of HP and fuel economy, it made no difference.

It was much easier to make my own after contacting the company. Overall, it works fine once installed, but there isn't much of a difference in horsepower.

The packaging was a disaster. There isn't much in the way of impact material. When I received it, several of the smaller vaccum tubes had broken off due to the fact that it had been tossed around in shipping. br>br>The product itself is excellent, but the packaging and shipping were a disaster.

It fit pretty well, but I had to get a new 3/8 inch coolant line and run it across the throttle body to the other port because this throttle body won't work with cruise control.
