I'm torn between the two options. HP in the low to mid range has increased. The one that was delivered to me appeared to have been installed previously before it arrived. This anodized exterior with white lettering, as seen on the left, was not the one that arrived at my door. I'm not sure if that's normal for a package. Both ends were dull, and there were corrosion spots on the corkscrew threads, as if a toxic liquid had been dripped on them, as well as damage to the threads with jagged edges on some of them. So, yes, I'm conflicted. I wish I had photographed it before putting it in.
The thing works like a charm! I'd seen these things advertised for years, so I figured what the heck and ordered one. I didn't expect to notice any difference in my engine's performance, but. It was set up by me. Getting the POC plastic manifold pipe off proved to be the most difficult part. It was perfectly inserted into the pipe. I started my truck after getting everything in order. I can't hear any " whistle " over the engine noise, but that's not important to me. I shifted into first gear, idled out to the road, and then shifted from second to third, and yes, the turbo spoolup increased. It's not a lot, but it's enough to eliminate the gear lag. The engine simply feels more responsive from idle to takeoff and all the way through third gear (I have a manual ZF6 6-speed trans). I'll take it! The 100 dollars was well spent. 00, and there was no shipping, no tax, and I received it two days ahead of schedule. 8 )).
Installing it was a breeze, and the instructions were very simple to follow. For our 2005 F350 6, we are very pleased with this purchase. 0 horsepower.
Man, I wish it actually did something for my truck; it was inexpensive and arrived quickly, but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Save your money; when used in a diesel engine, it makes no difference!!.
