In addition, I wanted to point out that for people who have bought this product In order to install this set, you MUST use a notched cross pin. You will not find this information on either the listing or Yukon's website. Because the cross pin cannot slide into place after the ring gear is installed, install the notched pin before the ring gear is installed.

S. A. on the box! I'm taking the The gears on my little 96 explorer are my first gear set up, and once I started reading up on how to set up, the gears were set up in four hours. Once you get your head around how things work, however, it's no big deal. I have been beating the snot out of my jeep and it has been great, no whine. A Grizzly locker and Yukon master installation kit are required for this installation. The stickers did not come with the package, which was a bit disappointing.

It was a nightmare driving the vehicle with this gear installed professionally. It whined so loudly I couldn't stand it. My gears were readjusted four times by professionals with the same result. I ended up getting OEM ones, and they are so quiet I can't hear them at all. I finally have my sanity back after I went through this process. Yukon Gears has ruined my life! I won't buy them.

For a ratio of 4, there are 7 teeth on the pinion and 32 teeth on the ring gear. The set wore very quickly and was noisy at over 45 mph, and I'm not sure if that affects anything. It was a normal pattern and everything was set up well. There is a fair amount of wear The easiest ring and pinion to set up is a Ford 9". It is no longer audible after I replaced the gears with a Motive gear set. The only difference I can see between the two sets is that the drive has a 9 tooth pinion and 41 tooth ring gear.
