Only the mid-year and early 2004 Ford F150 Heritage models are compatible with this steering shaft, which is not compatible with the 2004 mid-year change and later models of the F150. A straight shaft is similar to the one in this one, but after the mid year change, they went to the 2 piece shaft with the U-bolt In the middle of the system. There are two types of steering gear boxes rack-and-pinion in the F150 Heritage and gear box in the F150. We need to change the wording on this website since it claims that it fits the 2004 and the Heritage, but it only fits the 2004 HERITAGE before the midyear change happened.
