A '85 CJ7 came with one when I purchased it The program was installed on Windows 7 and worked well.
A vibration dampener is included with this one
There is no paint or treatment applied to it. Before you install it, you will need to paint
I had no problems with my steering box since it worked. I really really like this thing. It expands, it is made really tight, but in a good way, too. Use just a wooden block and a hammer to fix it. Also, I painted it black with spray can epoxy from a home center - the product is You have to spray it down with brake cleaner first. It takes 24 hours for the paint to dry hard. Rust stopper, great for off-road use. A steering shaft like this is amazing. I would buy it for sure. A really strong man

used this shaft on a 77 CJ5 with a quick set screw adjustable shaft which fit perfectly. There have been several remarks regarding the need to prime and paint the shaft. As I mentioned, the steering knuckle was hard to get onto the spline at the end of the steering column. Keeping the steering box tight is easy. The steering knob slides on and tightens up very easily. Here's a suggestion Please take the 8-point test To remove the steering column, remove 10 bolts under the dash and disconnected the turn signal wiring harness (you can prime and paint while the column is out) and clean the steering column spline. In the next step, the steering knuckle was tapped on to the column spline and the shaft and power steering knuckle were installed. In order to remove the steering column, I left the shaft set screw loose, and slid the entire column back through the dash to reach the power steering spline. I then installed the bracket under the dash that allows for the depth of the column inside the Jeep. After getting the steering column into position in the bracket, I used a soft mallet to tap the steering wheel to lengthen the adjustable shaft. I installed the steering column bracket bolts and tightened them once it was in place. The steering shaft under the hood needs to have its set screws Lock-tite blue sealed, and the steering column assembly under the dash must be completed. My first step was to prime and paint the shaft after prefitting and taping it off. Putting paint on the front of the steering knuckles and shaft adjustments will make them difficult to slide on and off. We are very pleased with the upgrade, as the steering is very responsive and feels tight.
The installation of this part on my Jeep '85 CJ7 was not difficult. Designed really well and made really well I can no longer find Jeep parts made in the USA, which makes it a challenge to keep my Jeep running. I have an old shaft from AMC with a boot that has been ripped a couple times on it. The only thing I liked about this was that it wasn't filled with garbage. The stock junk I had was also very weak compared to what I had now. The company owns Bergeson since 1912, so they know their stuff. It looks like their steering boxes are superior, too, and maybe I will.
Power steering on a 1977 Jeep CJ5 The steering column of my tilt steering wheel fits snugly onto this. I had to clean up the splines on the steering column to get it to move at all. In addition, the splines in the columns As a side note, the column was equipped with a Wolf Engineering Billit Bearing. A really good way to tighten up the ends. Currently I am waiting for some parts to arrive to install it onto the CJ5 Soon I will update you on this. There is only one downside to this, and that is that the shaft is Amazon provided a fluid film that I was able to spray on the panel. We will see how it holds up after giving it a try. This is a very thick shaft with good construction. The cheapest one I found was here on Amazon. Once again, I'll update as soon as I can.
Honestly, I bought this product based on a recommendation from a friend. Wow! This is a scary story! In comparison with the OEM steering shaft, it is a night into day improvement. As a result, my CJ now has extremely responsive steering, and I no longer have to guess where it's going on the road. Now it virtually takes no effort to steer between 10 and 2 to keep it straight. Previously it had to be constantly switched between 10 and 2. It's very easy to install, but i would recommend you clean the new part very well, and apply primer and paint to prevent rust and keep the part in good condition. When installing the steering box and the fire wall, make sure to clean all mounting surfaces thoroughly and use a good grease. Thanks for the product! I'm happy with it!.
The only downside is that it is unpainted, but it's easy to fix and will probably last longer than I will.
didn't realize there would be this much to do when I replaced the joint. It's a wonder I was ever right. I really feel like I had a much better steering feel on my 1978 CJ 7 after installing this. Driving is so much more enjoyable I'm very pleased with this This is a highly recommended book.
Verify that your tie rods are in good condition, your ball joints are functioning properly, and your gearbox You can do 80 MPH on the highway with one finger if you use this rod and a steering brace.
I was hesitant about the conversion from manual to power steering as well as the 5 inch lift I was installing on my jeep. The thing is, though, it's extremely well made The bracket is extremely simple to install and is made from heavy duty materials. The device has not yet been put on the trail but from what I have seen so far, it seems to work fine when driving. As long as you remember that it is not painted, I recommend soaking it in brake cleaner for 10 minutes, and then spray painting it with appliance epoxy to make it look like it is.
