Questions & Answers

it possible to weld through this product?

Please say hello In addition, the extreme heat involved in the welding process will cause Rust Bullet and most other coatings to disintegrate. It is important to remove Rust Bullet coatings before welding and to reapply them again. Rust Bullet coatings have a continuous service temperature of 314F (157C) for up to 72 hours and can tolerate maximum temperatures of 662F (350C).

Can I get it ?

There is only a silver version of Rust Bullet, but the top coat is white and extremely durable. As for the top coat, I've used both black and red and they both last for a very long time.

The finish coat should be painted with the following kind of paint. ?

You can paint anything you like, depending on what you want. can either go for rustoluem paints on the low end or buy professional primers and topcoats for your vehicle. Then I plan to paint the car I used the rust bullet on with the color I plan to paint it with after I topcoat with epoxy primer from a HVLP paint gun. Rather than having everything the same color, I used the paint mainly on areas that would be hidden after final assembly, but I don't want everything to match.

Is it not going to reduce paint?

If you decide to thin Rust Bullet Coatings, do so at your own risk. A 2 can be used if you intend to spray with an HVLP. The tip jar is empty. This coating is ready to use right from the can, and any adjustments you make to your equipment would be more significant than adjusting the coating itself. The thinned formula will be different and will not function the same way as when it was originally prepared. If you wish to remove rust using a solvent, you can use Rust Bullet Solvent or Xylene The equipment has been set up. In most cases, it is not advisable to thin oxide bullet coatings. You can use a two-tipped handle on an HVLP if you wish to spray with it. As Rust Bullet is ready to go out of the can, you will not need to do anything to it, but just tweak your gear. Once diluted, it will no longer have the same formulation and will not have the same effect as when it was made. To clean the equipment, you can use xylene oxide or bullet solvent.

This is a unique experience
5/5

Since working in corrosion remediation for a bit over 20 years, we've become experts in the field. A white metal abrasive blast is followed by a high-performance coating, which represents the gold standard of the clean and paint process. Maintenance on this is costly and does not appear to get done often enough.
If maintained, it should last for a while. Compared to money, time, effort and bloodied fingers, a coat or two of Rust Bullet, followed by a topcoat (if you want) is vastly more cost effective. Just recently, I painted some wire brushed rusty piping as a test. I then tried to remove the rust Bullet coating with a new MBX Bristle Blaster after it had dried for a few hours. The noise level of these things is below that of The single coat of Rust Bullet did not peel off as long as it was not parked overnight on the new coating (with the MBX tool). I think it might even be a little bit. I don't know what it is. Can you tell me? It's not a primer at all. The rust converter is definitely not one. The APA 15 is better than the APA 15 in my opinion. I like it so much that I go-to it To coat infrastructure in order to restore it.

The Experience I Had My floorboards in my 1976 GMC Pickup were so rusty that I used this stuff to restore them
4/5

This is an extremely unique product, so I had to learn it as I read the instructions very carefully. I had to deal with the humid and sweltering heat we've been experiencing in East Tennessee this week that was not mentioned in the instructions. If your surfaces are rusty, this product is the best solution. When you apply the second coat, you've got a thicker, sealed piece of metal that doesn't rust. The first coat soaks into the metal and actually strengthens it. The product is okay but the price seems higher than all the other primers and converters. It seems to have a short shelf life, and I had to make some repairs prior to the main job and had trouble getting the lid off the can afterward because it bonded the lid to the can. The contents were poured into plastic containers with screw caps like vitamins, and I sealed them with lids and caps. Even then the top began to become hard and thick, so I ended up putting plastic wrap under the lid, closing the lid tightly, and using the refrigerator to keep it cold. Therefore, I recommend using this method at another time of the year when the weather isn't so hot. Therefore, it makes sense to open the can and begin using it right away. I should have ordered a smaller can to prepare the repairs before opening the larger one. When I first experienced this problem, I did not wear gloves and ended up cutting myself. A few days were needed for it to fall off & Make sure you cover all your stuff with tarps, or use plastic to prevent it from getting on your auto seats, etc. If drips get on a pair of scissors or other metal object, I use some sort of solvent like Acetone to clean them up. This stuff seems to really stick to metal because a drop of it didn't come off the scissors. Therefore, I believe that this is an ideal product for restoring an old rusted vehicle or for refurbishing metal items that are exposed to the elements outdoors.

Rust protection that is of excellent quality
5/5

I was able to shoot this product from my cheap harbor freight paint gun very effectively. Be careful not to apply it too thick/heavy as it will cause a zillion tiny blisters to form during the dry time. It is better to apply four lighter coats followed by a time between each coat rather than two heavier ones. Your surface will look gorgeous and you're not going to have the worries of solvent pop. There's a lot of tough stuff here. By smashing a piece of sheet, I was able to test it. The metal was sprayed with some spray to see if it would crack and chip off easily. As well as me, I gave it a hard hit. In fact, there isn't a shred of proof that I There is no such thing as inertia. Make sure to abrade the affected area, as described in the instructions, before you spray in order for it to adhere. Surfaces with a lustrous finish will not hold paint well, as paint will not adhere to a glossy surface. One area was to be welded where some material had to be removed. Sanding it off was not easy, Order it in smaller cans as well! It's a great product. After you have opened the can, you must shoot all of the contents out of it. The lid will be destroyed if you take it off, and once the lid is open to the atmosphere, the stuff will cure and harden. I find smaller cans to be more effective. Rather than a smaller size, I order a quart and that seems to work fine You can cover a lot of ground with 1 quart.

However, it does not appear that it will wear off with normal use
5/5

I used this stuff to repair some rust on my fender. Blackshell was also applied as a topcoat, which seems like a rubbery material A few dots have a "grip" to them, but the finish is very hard. As I said before, I don't think water or air will penetrate this. I put it on very easily and it dried very This is a high quality black shell, but it has a much darker grey tone This paint doesn't quite match my car, but it does come close. There was one negative however after the can sat open for about 30 minutes while I applied it, it skinned over so fast that it was unusable in It says to only pour enough for your job, and then replace the lid immediately afterward, but I did not follow that instruction and now I pay the price for not following those instructions. I will definitely buy this stuff again, and I will cover it whenever I am not using it.

It is impossibly hard to win in the end A great value for the money
5/5

There is no doubt that this is one of the best rust stoppers available. Unlike a rust converter, it is not designed to prevent rust. Aside from being extremely tough and resistant to acetone, xylene, toluene, lacquer thinner, all these substances are impregnable once it cures. Paints or primers are normally dissolved by any substance that causes them to dissolve. My test involved cutting rusty parts out of a car, leaving some of them rusty some other parts I wirebrushed, and then painted this stuff over those parts. In an attempt to prevent rust creep, I intentionally left some edges rusty. For three years now, this metal has been outside my shop, mainly untouched except occasionally lost when it gets wet from rain. No rust is showing through and rust doesn't seem to be accumulating on the edges like it does on some of the other bullets.
Just remember to use gloves during the application, as observed by others. If you want it off your skin, you need no less than a grinder. I would suggest buying in small containers since once opened, it will start to cure even faster. Using Bloxygen is my method of retarding the curing and keeping it usable for a couple of.
