It is not true that Dexron and Mercon are the same thing. It is best to use Mercon 5 for your car if that's what the manufacturer suggests. There is now Mercon LV (light viscosity) ATF that is now required for Ford products from 2008 onward. Check if your vehicle is covered by a Mercon.
You'll receive twelve of these in a box. It was actually 6 that I used. You can reach out to me if you're interested in purchasing the six I had left over.

A factory, or OEM, fluid is the only one that should be used. A third alternative would be to use a multi-source feed, which is currently available and easily accessible Fluids made from synthetic materials are used. I realize there is a problem with this in my case since Ford no longer recommends Mercon LV (for low viscosity) in place of Further, Ford does not recommend the Mercon V as a replacement for the Ford has a reason for doing this, in my opinion. This did replace Mercon V as can be seen from the service and technical bulletins of Mercon V. However, Mercon LV has not yet been specified by Ford as the replacement for As much as I would prefer a full synthetic, I am hesitant to put an expensive transmission at risk with a fluid that has both a "regular" viscosity and a low viscosity at the same time. There is something to be leery of on labels with words like "suitable for" and "recommended for. " Who says it is suitable for and who recommends it? Not the manufacturer of the fluid, but the one of the transmissions? An engine oil of, for example, 0W or 0W-80 In the absence of 10W, 20 is not a substitute If 30 days or 15 days, please indicate It is specified that 40 is needed. It is more trustworthy when a label has been "approved" by the transmission manufacturer (and not the fluid manufacturer) or better yet "licensed" by the transmission manufacturer. The license number must appear on the label to assure legitimacy. Despite the fact that I am only one person, it is based on the opinion of some top notch automotive mechanic I purchased this Mercon V based on these reasons. It occurred to me that a miracle juice was one size fits all until I read some reviews about The bottom of one buyer's jug of new fluid was full of sludge, and two other buyers found metal shards in theirs. Taking it slow is the prudent thing to do. Mercon V was by far the most prudent and safer choice I could make.
Having used this oil, I have found that the vehicle responds well, the changes have gone from abrupt to smooth, and the faults the transmission exhibited, such as knocking when passing the changes or over acceleration, have been resolved.
The price was great, and the service was quick!.
I was very satisfied with the service. Ford trucks are made with it.
Fluid is excellent and the price is about the same as the competition. Whenever I change my old fluid, I notice that shifting is more efficient.
I always trust it to.
Buying multipacks is never a good idea If you use aftermarket fluid on your vehicle, you could endanger it, because non-OEM fluid is not designed for your car. Aftermarket transmission fluid is designed for many vehicles and is not designed for your car specifically.
Original equipment manufacturer. Transmission fluid manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer. The only way to go is up.
