The first time I used them, they literally tore apart. Purchase is not recommended.
I MTB 2- Three times per week in a rocky environment. If my pedal hits the back of my leg, it tears through the fabric. I use flat pedals with adjustable pins. I believe that this is the tradeoff you must make in order to get something breathable and provide some protection; I would not wear these for more than two seasons. Because there don't appear to be any comparable pads on the market, I'll most likely purchase another pair.
They're incredibly cozy. I now wear them on my road bike as well because they provide knee support in addition to crash protection.
Crashed on a 15-foot Ladder drop that lands in a right-hand berm right away. I sent it too far left and too deep, and it collided with the berm's wall. The left knee, shoulder, and face took the brunt of the blow. Rather than going to the hospital with a broken knee cap, I went back up the hill and landed on the drop once more. (I was also wearing a Bell Super Air full-face helmet and a Leatt compression shirt with D3O shoulder pads. ) ) The kneepads (as well as the shirt and helmet) did a fantastic job! Knee pads aren't too bulky, and they don't get too hot. Most of the time, I don't even realize I'm wearing them; definitely recommend!.
For basic protection, these are a lightweight and comfortable option. My problem is that after two rides, the material on the back of my knee ripped. Due to this issue, I would not recommend it.
It's very comfortable, but it moves a little downhill, which I believe is normal for all knee pads because you're really moving your knees while pedaling.
These are too small for my leg, even though I ordered a Large.
They're simple and light, and they're easy to clean. However, they're not the most comfortable knee guards on the market.
