Getting a professional to do it may be a good idea. It is nice to have the tachometer, power, tilt trim, etc. connected to the engine via a cable. I had Honda's Teleflex Tachometers for years and prefer these to them. This makes it easier to read and less likely to fog.

I had no problems installing the software

It was very easy to install. problems I had was with the old wire harness that expected the last half inch of bolts not to have threads, so I was not able to reinstall the harness. It took some splicing to connect them to the bolts on the back of the harness in order to get it working again.
