The following list shows all Ford Service Part numbers included with this package
For a F-550 from Ford, this is a great way to get OEM Camshaft phasers, timing chain tensioners, guides, chains, and gaskets for a very low price. V8 with a 4L displacement
The valve cover gaskets are not included, as there are two different styles that can be purchased separately.

Questions & Answers

How accurate are the parts in this kit? Do they all come from ?

Buying Ford OEM phasers is the only way to ensure quality. You should not purchase aftermarket phasers of any brand. There is a chance that you will spend 700 or so dollars on the junky aftermarket phasers, and shortly thereafter you will spend at least 1700 dollars to get Ford Original

The tensioners are made of what material? Are you more likely to use iron ?

With a plastic frame and steel inserts for bolt holes, tensioner piston and plate, they are sturdy and durable

These phasers look original to me, and I am worried they are not. If any of them have seen these first hand, could they please let me know whether they are original. Why do so many say they are not?

Phasers with this manufacturer's name are genuine Ford It runs like new now that I installed this kit. Phaser knock is no longer an issue.

Selected User Reviews For Ford 5.4L 3V Camshaft Drive Phaser Repair Kit - Phaser Sprockets, Tensioners, Guides, Chains Kit

For those of you who came here courtesy of FordtechMakuloco, I recommend watching the video he made describing this lengthy and amazing project
5/5

Have just completed the installation of all parts on a 2009 expedition - If you are planning to undertake this, you should invest in a new, high-volume oil pump. Get not just the melling 10340 or 360, but also the high volume versions of both of those, just released a week ago (maybe 3/13/18). For those of you who came here courtesy of FordtechMakuloco, I recommend watching the video he made describing this lengthy and amazing project. You might also want to look at the video he posted pertaining to the M340HV oil pump because it is presumably new and won't be incorporated into his old timing kit tutorials. Let me know what you think.

It seems that all the parts (whether they are Ford marked or not) are of a higher quality and a recent In terms of timing set parts, the tensioners are the only ones I'd really want manufacturer confirmation on
3/5

I really don't want anything but OEM at this point. It is also unclear who I purchased this from since the package it came in indicates it came from Freedom Racing Tool and Auto, LLC in Iowa, but the seller is listed as Gaudin Ford out of Las Vegas. Are you curious? In the near future, I'll update this post as this kit is installed and given some run time. It's time for an update. I figured out what Freedom Racing is about. For $730, they sell the same set on their website, a savings of $105 compared to Amazon's price. How much of my balance can I expect to be refunded? I love it!.

The OEM kit you need is THIS one
5/5

IMPORTANT Buy only the product you see in the image The parts in this listing are Genuine Ford Motorcraft parts. This part was installed in a Ford F150 5 from 2005. Buying an aftermarket timing phaser kit for your 4L 3V will not work. I'm warning you now, don't do it. FoMoCo OEM parts are the only ones that should be used. In less than a year, I bought my car, it had just undergone a major service, and it has 100 thousand miles. I was unable to drive the car after a 5-kilometer trip. The engine was filled with cheap Chinese knockoff parts when I opened it. There was a problem with the phases. A guard for the timing chain has been blown apart. There is a break in the chain. There was an issue with the tensioners. There are many more items on the list.

We're on our way to fixing the damage. I received all parts from motorcraft, and many of them were upgraded versions that Ford put out as a response to the flaws of the original design. *When you buy this kit, make sure you buy two VCT solenoids and swap them out. If you want a brand new crankshaft pulley bolt, make sure you buy one. In the old crankahaft pulley bolt, the torque to yield bolt stretches when it is installed correctly, so when it is not installed correctly, the threads become distorted. Remove the front cover of the engine to gain access to it. Also, purchase the Melling M360HV oil pump to replace the stock one since it is a known to be inadequate oil pump. All my truck needed was some routine maintenance after I replaced everything. It is now high-performing and running better than ever before. It still ended up costing me a thousand dollars The entire repair costs 1500 dollars, including all the extra components that need to be replaced and some preventative maintenance, like spark plugs. You have to rent a pulley puller tool, but they refunded me after I returned it. As a result, I had to buy a 1/2 inch cordless electric impact wrench that had sufficient torque to unlock the crankshaft pulley bolt.
But all in all, I saved THOUSANDS of dollars over going to a shop or a This is a highly recommended product. This is a 10k update on 08/23/2020. Things are running smoothly 10k later. Let me know if you found this review helpful by giving it.

The parts were defective and the service was poor
3/5

I purchased this kit and not even 1/2 mile down my 15 mph street it blows the phaser (the one with the damaged pin detent) causing damage to the camshaft and the A few days later, I proceeded to purchase a new phaser from another vendor (this time it's probably a Ford part since these parts are labeled as OEM kits with part numbers, but I suspect that they're not actually Ford parts, Now that you have the new phaser and Cam installed, do not look at the passenger side to see if it needs to be re-installed Unfortunately, this one is broken into three pieces (see picture). In other words, for a task that should have cost $800 A repair that would have cost 1000 in parts is now costing me 1500 because I have to order new parts and a The only bad thing is that I ordered over 87 days ago, and the part was installed less than 30 days ago, so the vendor didn't honor the return, and I had to implement an Amazon appeal to cancel the order. Basically, I feel like I was swindled by Amazon and did not receive any protection.

The original timing kit for Ford
5/5

I ordered this OEM timing set here on Amazon from Shults Ford. Despite the fact that I do not subscribe to Prime, I received everything in two days because delivery was so fast. Although it is a complex task, anyone who has worked on their car can do it. He has a comprehensive video series on his Youtube channel where he explains how to carry out this task. It will take a few days to complete the project. Three full days were required to complete this project. Everything must be removed down to the chains and the phasers, vct solenoids, and the chains must be replaced, and everything must be reassembled in one day. It is not something you should rush through and you'll need a number of different tools to accomplish. There are also phase locks, crank positions, and valve spring compressors. Taking this job on yourself can save you over $1000 for me it saved me The 5K mark. Since I am not planing to sell the truck, I decided to replace everything since my right side chain tensioner had failed. Chains and phasers were fine but since I am not planning to sell it, I replaced everything and got it out of the way. It would be a good idea to replace the oil pump with a Melling HV pump and to switch to a 5w-35. The software I've been using is called 5W- The number of days over 5 weeks is 30 Throughout my ownership of the vehicle, I have paid $20 a month. There was nothing wrong with the tensioner gasket, but Ford had known issues with those in the past.

Don't forget to make sure what they told you they would give you is what they actually deal is an excellent one, when you look at the big picture
3/5

There were only Ford parts on the car. There is no better place to end. A chain guide was sent to the wrong address and the timing cover gaskets as well. Ford parts on its website are only $50, so I don't think this is a big deal. Nevertheless, it caused my repair to be delayed by half a day when the mechanic realized the guide was incorrect. Upon further investigation, it was found that the timing cover gasket set was also incorrect. I'm going to be late again by half a day. As a result, I will be without my vehicle for an additional day since they couldn't even make sure the parts were in place.
