They're cheap mirrors, but you'll pay for what you get. As a result, they are a wonderful value for money. I would recommend this product to budget conscious individuals like myself who are looking for value for money.
Although I thought the 2005 Triumph America had screw-on mirror stems, I was disappointed to find that the stems did not fit, so after "unscrewing" one and still not finding anything, I once again went looking for a nut or screw that held the mirror in place. Upon further investigation, I discovered that both mirrors were "taper fit" with no threads, just a small screw with a large washer on the bottom. Hopefully the mirror heads themselves will unscrew from the stems and fit the British stems that I already own. Exactly as they said! The larger rectangular mirrors I plan to purchase sometime in the future will come after a week of riding.
For example, if the mirrors on your Yamaha are broken but the arms are still in good condition. In order to remove the broken mirror, I removed the threads on the left side. Added the mirror to the arm of the new set after removing the mirror from the old set. I saved a lot of money and time by using it. In the event that the arm has fallen off, you must obtain a Yamaha exactly matched to the arm.
For my 1983 Honda Magna V45, I used these to replace mirrors that were seized up from the adjusters. Chromed plastic rear view mirrors look almost identical to OEM mirrors, despite having chromed plastic. I have tested them out in high winds and high speeds, and as long as they are installed correctly, the light stays on.
There is not enough distance between the mirrors and the vehicles behind you to see better. The lock tight also kept the mirrors from constantly moving, which took a lot of time and effort to do.
This is a very good value for a good quality product.
Do you know what it feels like to examine a vibrating guitar string closely? When you are running 60 mph, that is what the mirror starts to look like. When the bike is turning fast about 80 mph, the mirrors also move and settle at a specific location. In that case, if you can tighten it during that time, you should be fine. In the end, what you pay for is what you get.
These are excellent mirrors. They fit perfectly and look great. I give them five stars.
