Questions & Answers
Engine guards used by Givi all have a 1" tubing diameter
Is it difficult to reach the bolt, or does it need to be aligned? The reason you're having trouble aligning the bolt is because the engine is integrated into the motorcycle frame. I used a 4" socket extension to reach it inside that tube on the lower part of the engine guard. When the original bolts are removed, the engine does not align properly , forcing the engine to drop slightly. It is possible to align the holes with a car jack by lifting the engine high enough. To ensure that the engine is not being hit by the exhaust pipes, make sure you place a set of wood blocks between the jack and the engine. Thanks a lot
I apologize, but this will not work with models from 2021. TN1171 is the part number for the upper crash bars for 2021, while TNH1171 is the number for the lower crash bars. I wish you best of luck, *br>

I think it may have been a Vstrom or a Versys? The only thing I did was - not use them In any case, I didn't like the looks of them and this is just a means to protect the bike itself. 2) The instructions are unclear about which side is which, but you can figure it out pretty easily. The left and right side bolts (different lengths) should be measured against the bolts you pull off the bike - then you will know which one is the right one. We can make the new ones slightly longer by a few millimeters. The last thing that matters, though, is that overall it's good quality and will protect the bike. It also seems to not interfere with periodic maintenance.
D'oh! This has not been crash tested. My customers always comment on how beautiful these are. The icy patches add to the look of the bike, and after finding the icy patches on a ride a couple weekends ago, I can verify they'll protect the bike from most damage at least in a low speed crash (I'm okay). As a result of the crash, a bit of metal came off the guards on one side, but otherwise are not damaged. It is likely they have already paid for themselves! In terms of installation, it was a bit challenging, but that's normal. Be careful not to remove all the engine bolts at the same time. The problem can be a real pain in the neck if multiple people are working on connecting all the bolts after the engine shifts with the bolts out. Because of the way the sides are, I did things loosely, making it easier to do. This saved me a lot of All in all, these are an exceptional addition to the bike and held up well when subjected to a low-speed If I do update this review with a high rating, I hope that this will be still a review I'm happy with Crash review at high speed!.
It is unclear if these crash bars work with the rally raid bash plate according to the mixed information I read online.
I'm able to confirm that it is working. They are compatible, you need to buy two M10x1 "bolts" to fit them all into one frame mount. Use 25x40 (or 50) bolts with a 14mm head from the hardware store, and you will be able to fit a deep socket down the tube at the mounting point for the The 17mm bolt that came with the rally raid bash plate cannot be reused as the socket diameter of a 17mm bolt is too large to fit within the tube part. A 15mm socket is the largest that can be used.
The bolts are missing, and the bars have been scratched since factory assembly. I didn't like the instructions very much.
We are very happy with the look and have not had the problems some people say the bars caused I ride on the interstate, dirt roads, and highway weekly and have never had any problems.
It is a solid, relatively simple design There is an alternative to Givi's installation instructions that are much simpler than those included with engine guard. I looked up the instructions online. There were some viewers who reported experiencing vibrations when they turned the RPM's up high, but I had never experienced any vibrations. In the end, I can't think of anything I was disappointed in.
It takes some time to get them lined up perfectly when putting them on, but they do the job and look great I was able to add a cup holder to make my bike look bigger, and the girth makes it appear bigger.
The second day I owned the bike, I installed it, and a week later I dropped it. The bars worked well. There were no damages to the fairing.
