The guard is smaller than I anticipated, and while the holes are spaced correctly, they are not large enough in diameter to accept the bolts that held on the OEM plastic guard I am replacing

The OEM bolts have a shoulder, so I had to hunt down replacements (rather than relying on just one). Engagement of two threads). I'm thinking about drilling them out so I can use the stock bolts, but I haven't made up my mind yet. It appears to be of good quality, with a nice finish.

It has no effect

As the name implies, this disc guard for the back doesn't even work. The rear rotor is dangerously close to being protected. It's so bad that it's almost funny, and it's so bad that I won't even photograph it for fear of ridicule from other riders!.

This brake disc guard is a good fit for the XR400r. The anodized coating is of excellent quality, and it complements my Honda beautifully. I only gave it four stars because it's a step down in terms of comprehensive protection. It's possible that the mounting tabs on the bike A-frame will bend with the current design. If you apply force in certain directions, your arm will bend. It needs a design change to better protect the mounting tabs by triangulating any force applied to it. Despite that complaint, I have had no other problems with the product thus far.
