When you put it all together in a nearly empty gas tank, it can treat up to 21 gallons of gas.
Can be used after you've driven a certain amount of miles and believe that carbon from combustion has built up. Where carbon has accumulated, 17k appears to be sufficient driving. Others argue that a good gas with detergent is sufficient and that no additional additives are required.
I used it on a fuel-injected vehicle, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a carburetor as well. It also performs as expected.

I stopped using Chevron gas in my car, and lo and behold, it lost its oomph. It had slowed down considerably. I was concerned that the transmission was failing or that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. This is how I cleaned the injectors. It was only marginally helpful. Every single one of the six bottles I returned to Chevron Supreme and, to my surprise, the sluggishness gradually dissipated. I picked up a few bottles of Chevron Techrolene Fuel System Cleaner, and I'm almost back on the road. It used to be a fun, fast car, and it still is. With a 4 cylinder engine, the Infiniti M45 Sport is a great car to drive. V8 engine with a displacement of 5. 0 liters. One of the most amusing luxury vehicles I've ever driven.
I use this product as directed in both of my vehicles, and I have no negative feelings or comments about it. I can't prove that it improves performance or mileage, and detergents are already required in the formulas of automobile fuel sold in the United States. However, I use this stuff as well, and in my 2001 V-Max, I consistently get 14 mpg. In my '04 32V Marauder, I get 10 Super Duty and 24 mpg. I'm in good shape. I'm happy with both of those figures, and I've never had any problems with firing, sputtering, smoking, or slow acceleration.
This was purchased because the fuel filter on my truck was not serviceable. As a result, you'll have to remove the gas tank to replace it. On the spark plugs and intake valves, there was also a lot of carbon buildup. I've been using the on every third fill up method for about 2 months now (so I've only used about 4 of these bottles), and the carbon buildup on the valves is noticeably reduced. I cleaned the intake manifold and replaced the spark plugs, which resulted in a 2mpg increase in gas mileage and a slight (but still noticeable) improvement in throttle response. br>br>There's no way to check the fuel filter, but I'll just replace it when I get the chance. However, at this price point, I'm quite pleased with this product.
I've been putting a bottle in every time I fill up my tank; I'm on my third bottle now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in general pick-up and acceleration on an incline. I have an 86' 4runner; she's got 220,000 miles on her, but she runs great, and I believe Gumout has been helping clean up her lines and injectors and giving her some new pep. I'm very happy with it, and I'll keep using it until I've used up all six bottles, then maybe another bottle or two a year later.
To be honest, I don't have anything to say about the performance. The amount (or lack thereof) of additives to keep the fuel system from coating up is the difference between one brand of gasoline and another at a given Octane rating. "Top Tier" rated gasoline (yes, Google it) promises to have the right amount of such additives, and it has been endorsed by car companies with high-performance engines. Today, all engines are high performance with EFI, direct injectors, CPU, variable valves, and other features. I usually use Shell 10% Ethanol, and use fuel cleaner 2- 3 times a year in the hopes of counteracting the gumminess of Ethanol. br>As a replacement for the box of two Techron bottles, Costco now sells only a box of two Techron bottles, where previously the box contained six bottles, both for the same price. br>br>Despite the fact that Scotty Kilmer on YouTube claims that fuel cleaner isn't necessary, I use it for ethanol gumminess, despite the fact that my regular Shell gas is supposed to be formulated with Nitrogen addictive to reduce carbon dirt in the pathway. Fuel additive is also available at BP/Getty gas stations in my area.
This is the second time I've ordered it. It appears to keep my car parts clean and performing at their best. I showed it to him when I took my car to the mechanic, and he said it was a good idea to use it.
This is what I used in an older car with over 100K miles that I use as a backup vehicle. I've worked with a variety of non-traditional materials. By purchasing the cheapest gas available at the time of filling up, I was able to get "Top Tier" gasoline for this older car. I've noticed an increase in hesitation and a decrease in acceleration over time. br>br>One-of-a-kind-of-a-kind-of-a-kind-of- After mixing this cleaner in the tank, the car feels much more prepared, the idling is noticeably smoother, and acceleration is noticeably faster. This item does exactly what it says it will do. For older, higher-mileage vehicles, this product is far more cost-effective than using "Top Tier" gasoline on a regular basis.
When I refueled after fixing a misfire caused by rodent damage, I added a bottle of Gumout High Milage cleaner to see if any carbon had built up on the valves and injectors. There is less lag during acceleration and the idle is smoother.
