When I loaded my BMW F800 GSA into my truck, the rubber lip guards were nice, but the rest of the ramps contacting my F150 were scraped up around the lip of my tailgate, which could have been avoided with a small piece of rubber/plastic. Next, the safety straps they used were subpar to say the least; I couldn't get them to release even once without them snagging on the fabric, the locking cam, and the binding, effectively ruining the strap for future use. Walking the bike up the stairs creased one of the aluminum plates, which now has a permanent sag. The rest of the construction appears to be rushed and unfinished, with semi-sharp edges. DO NOT BUY THIS FOR HEAVY BIKES, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT. br>To the manufacturer's credit, it's a perfect set of ramps for a lighter machine, and they fold up easily and are relatively light.
The good: price, light weight, enough sturdiness, and ease of use br>Contrary to popular belief, the following is a list of flaws in this The directions for connecting the safety straps aren't very clear. br>The unattractive: Sloppy workmanship poses a plethora of safety risks; At hinged joints, razor-sharp cotter pins are exposed. All of the edges are razor sharp and unfinished. When using, be sure to use thick gloves or spend time smoothing out all of the edges.
These are what I use to load bikes. The ramps are lightweight and simple to maneuver. I like the size of the holes in the surface because it provides just enough traction for tires and boots. My only gripe is that the straps are shoddy. There's damage where the cam lock grabbed the strap after only one use. After only a few more uses, I expect it to snap.
Upgrade the straps to something of higher quality, but they're still great ramps that are very light. Shipping was extremely quick! Seller responds quickly and is a pleasure to deal with!.
These ramps are used by me, a 66-year-old woman, to load a horse carriage into my pickup truck with a winch. These are extremely simple to transport, move, and set up. These are definitely worth the money.
I bought this to use on ramping my inflatable raft, but I soon discovered that it can be used for anything that requires loading and unloading heavy items into and out of my full-size van. I've been using it to carefully load a 32 gallon sewer tote for transport to a dump 300 yards away, for example. This ramp also makes it easier to load and unload heavy items with a dolly. br>It's lightweight but tough, and the tie cord keeps it in place while you're wearing it. The tie cord frequently gets stuck on the clamp teeth, making it difficult to use; a tougher cord could solve this issue, but given the overall quality and value added by using it, this is not a major complaint.
It's simple to put together, use, and take down once you're finished.
