No, they don't have to be white; you can paint them any color you want as long as you clear coat them afterwards so they don't fade.
They aren't being led in any way.
I'm not sure, but I can't think of any reason why not.
Yes, I believe it came with a bulb. It's been a long time. I'm sure an LED bulb would do the trick as well.

A motorhome, to be precise. Although it was better than the original, I still upgraded the bulbs to Type 67 LEDs (they came with tungsten Type 67's) and sealed the entire unit/screw holes to ensure no water got inside. These have exceeded my expectations.
One light had a dead short inside the bulb holder, which necessitated four hours of troubleshooting to locate the issue. None of my trailer lights worked due to a single short, and I had to buy seven new lights, four of which were from this seller; fortunately, the package had five, so I swapped it out. The good news is that they complement my 1958 travel trailer perfectly.
Not LED. Lights for a 1995 Montara RV are a great replacement. Not LED.
Not the best source of information. It's a pain to take out the bulb to mount it, and the wire assembly falls apart as you do so, but it works.
For my 2012 Jayco Grayhawk, this is the exact replacement.
These were simple to install because they were made of all new gasket material with long leads.
Make a good impression. Arrived a little late, but everything turned out fine. That was probably not helped by the fact that I was 19 years old.
It has a nice appearance and is simple to put together.
