The retainer depth is the same. The description says it is aluminum, but the product is flimsy steel. There is only a 1-inch difference between the original and this one. If you need to modify the retainer, I recommend using a dremel or whatever tool you have instead of thin sheet metal rings since the original adapter rings are thicker and more durable. After opening the package, it turned out that the rings are a waste of money and that they would not function. As a result, the depth of the ring does not perfectly fit every LED type, especially the high power ones, and so I opened a return request. Unfortunately, I got a family emergency before shipping out, so when I get back, I find the return window has already passed. Just for the recycle bin, I spent 16 dollars.

The kind of work I am referring to. I have a 2017 jetta, and the seatbelts are a pain to get in and connect securely because one part of the clip is missing. In addition, the clips do not fit on to the Katana However, they did not work until after some customization. I need to check them regularly after that. It took Seller a number of days to get in touch with me, but I did not hear back from them. A few months later, they reached out again to see how the replacements worked, but they never sent any replacements. In the mean time, I think I will just buy VW dealer clips and modify those.

When you try to use them, the chinsey, thin, and razor sharp blades seem like razors. The more sets you buy, the cheaper they become. It would cost you hundreds of dollars to get them to Since I work as a mechanic for over thirty years, it has never taken me an hour to replace my headlight bulbs.

Although the bulbs are ok, trying to keep them in place and install them is a bit absurd. The only way I could make it work was to bend over the tabs on the top portion and use a piece of 2 sided tape on the bottom edge. It's hard for people like me to remove the headlights from my car without removing everything on the front such as The installation was difficult because there was little space in the compartment where the bulb goes. They could fix this problem if they added a couple of tabs that allow the fixture to stay in place on the lamp.

My clothes did not fit as advertised, so I bent, bended and tweaked them and cut them to make them fit. As you can see, each of my four sockets were tweaked differently, so you get the idea of how poorly they fit. This is better than custom cutting from plates since there are materials to work with instead.

For my 2016 BMW 328i (F30), this product was perfect. not quite as tight as the standard halogen H11 retainers, but it still holds the LED in place from side to side. As for my rating, I give it 5 stars since it works for the actual vehicles it's designed for, which isn't my car. Based on the product photo, I ordered the item because they were very similar to the ones I had originally. For a set of four pieces of metal that probably cost less than a cent to manufacture, I gave the 'Value for Money' a 3 star rating because $12 (or $3 per retainer) is a lot to pay. I'm happy with the outcome all in all.

I had to bend the metal a bit to make it fit, but it is not fragile. A little tweaking was needed to get the high beam bulb socket on Hella headlamps for the VW Passat, B6 chassis to fit tightly. Getting the "ears" of the retainer aligned correctly between the "nodes" of these headlamps was rather difficult due to a lack of space inside.

For my 2016 Volkswagen Jetta S, I bought these. In an effort to switch to LED lights, I upgraded my lighting system. In addition to modifying the connection to the light bulb, I also had to modify the connection to the headlight mount. In spite of all those changes, I was able to retain two of the four. It was a quick process to ship these.
