On my key fob for my 2014 E250 work van, the key chain loop broke. I saw the reviews and the serial number on my fob did not match the one shown in the picture, but I thought why not give it a shot? Initially, I thought I had $6 to waste, but in the end, it worked well. The buttons fit, but the battery was By carefully bending the prongs of the circuit board with a knife, I bent out the prongs on the circuit board. After cutting both of the corners off of the baggie which the fob arrived in and placing them between the batt and back cover, I mounted the fob to the batt. Having placed the back cover on the counter top, with the battery facing up, I spread the other side over the top and closed it with a firm press. It has been 4 days since. Everything is working just fine. Edit
I still find it to be a good purchase a month later.
The new fob came with the car, so I didn't have to buy a new one. It's not great and it looks different then the last one I had even though the numbers are the same. The buttons are too wide and are stuck down on one side, but this does not seem to have an effect on it working, I just have to pop it back out with my nail. As for me, I'm just happy I have my fob and I don't have to buy a new one for $50. The price paid was sufficient for me, so I'm satisfied.
It looks like the original, but the battery holder does not grasp It continues to work sporadically since the battery is able to slide around. Therefore, when you test it using the red emergency button, be sure that you have the appropriate size wrench available so that you can unplug your positive battery terminal from the battery. The positive and negative battery contacts on my circuit board had to be bent in order to extend them beyond In any case, it seems to work well, and you shouldn't need to be handy to use it. The three stars I gave this item are because it was inexpensive and I wasn't afraid to tinker with it.
However, this is a great way to resolve the issue without having to buy the entire item. The keyring loop does not last through the loop this item is built into. From the outside, it looks like a new one. Since I am pretty hard on them, this repairs them. You get new rubber buttons and they are in good shape. A great product that I have purchased many times to fix my computer and the computers of friends who suffered from.
I had a problem with the part of my remote that attached to the keyring. This is a terrible When I began researching how to replace it online, I thought it would require me to replace the whole device. The video he posted on YouTube was just about changing the cover and he bought a new one on Amazon. After a few minutes of searching, I had ordered a new case for my remote, and it took just a few minutes to fix it. I love it so much.
In the end, after several times taking it apart, I was able to stretch them sufficiently to sit above the plastic and it now functions as designed. The only thing I would do is to make the buttons protrude more from the openings to help prevent sticking. The price is a fair trade-off if you just want a key fob that is fresh and clean, without 10 years.
The OEM ones as well as every replacement one I have ever purchased have little nibs on the back that prevent the buttons from becoming stuck when you press The buttons don't have any resistance and you have to press them repeatedly to get them to move. Another replacement was purchased at my local auto parts store, which does have them, and it hasn't let me down since. There was one more I threw away.
Several other shoppers suggested that a square piece of rubber tire tube be used to close the gap between the battery and case. In addition, I would like to reiterate It was still in a usable condition, so we used it as a button cover. Ford case found to be in excellent condition.
