The wiring harness must be removed so that it can be examined. If you compare it to another part, the chances of it fitting are good, but don't be sure until you compare or check the part number. I have a 2001 Dodge 1500 and found it to fit perfectly. You Tube is informative as well.

However, the plastic console housing is needed to be removed to replace the switch. Having a wire match up exactly with the old wiring I already had, which failed on both switches, was one of the best things about it. The RAM 3500 SLT for my 2001 RAM 3500 was the perfect match for this product. The wire harness here is what you need if you have a trip computer in your overhead console, the one that gives you information on compass heading, etc. A computer connector was such an essential part of the purchase that I almost bought the one without a computer connector.
