My weight has not been measured on a scale so I am unsure but I guess it is around 1-pound The weight is two A metal alloy seems to have been used for its construction. You can't tell if it will break by looking at it or by feeling it. It was just what I was looking for.
In my case, I would like to make sure that my recovery equipment will not malfunction. People can be hurt or even killed if the winching gear breaks. Even if you lose your gear, you will still be stranded. The general rule of thumb is to take the weight of your rig, double it, and then add some One shackle is strong enough to lift the car off the ground, so I use them. Your old snatch blocks can go the way of the dodo. Make sure you are safe. My affiliation with OVS is not that of a customer. I used the soft shackles and ring to winch out a full tank of gas this weekend He was driving a Silverado that was buried up to his axles in snow. My winch capacity was increased with the ring mounted on a 10k winch. It only took two bumps with the winch for him to be I am starting a thread on the JL Wrangler forum about this kit, and all the naysayers are claiming that friction from the ring will cause the soft shackle to melt. As far as I am aware, the ring's outer coating is as slippery as Teflon. There are no signs of use or deterioration on the soft shackles or ring at all following the above recovery. I highly recommend this.
A good job was done on the machining of the ring, no rough edges are visible. There is a powder that looks like this On the outer surface, the coat is uniformly smooth, but on the inner surface it isn't. They provide a soft shackle with enough sheathing protection that it will probably not cause any damage This is not an issue, but if it is used with an unsheathed soft shackle then I would expect the rope fibers on a hard pull to be damaged some, at least until the rough powder coating gets smoothed down inside Factor55 rates their product at 22k pounds, so I am extremely skeptical that this one would hold up to anything close to 41k pounds. This product does not include any certification paperwork, but is still a good deal for the price.
When I was installing a new winch on my Jeep it proved beneficial to have the extension cord when I was spooling the line. It reduced the distance I needed to back down the driveway in half, which gave me an ideal angle to set the line. My truck is equipped with a winch and other winch attachments, so I plan to upgrade the winch and snatch block that I already have. There were a lot more features in this version than in the old one. As for dirt and sand, it won't really affect it since it doesn't need grease.
This soft Shackle is fantastic. It looks like it's well made and is of a I haven't received the ring so I can't speak to it about the rings yet.
It feels so much lighter than the one I've been using. The Amazon website is not currently in stock. Why is that?.
I only received the soft shackle when I ordered this combo specifically for the pulley
Update I received both items, and the pulley arrived in its own package a few days later. I have not yet tried it, but it looks like a good product.
I would not trust this brand. It has no certification, higher "rating" than products from licensed companies like Maxtrax or factor 55, and it is rated "minimum breaking strength", not "maximum breaking strength. ". The credibility of a company is immediately questioned when they can't even explain the incorrect terminology for their own product. You want to know the MINIMUM load that will be enough to cause this to malfunction, not the MAXIMUM!.
