I was able to switch to the synthetic rope with the help of the rope and fairlead. It's a lot lighter now, and there are no more wire barbs to rip into my hands. The rope has a pulling capacity of more than twice that of the winch, which is rated at 8000 lbs. It has already been put to use and has met my needs. This is something I should have done much sooner! If you take the necessary precautions and use this synthetic winch rope correctly, you'll have a lot more fun.

Machining is superb. The centers of my existing roller assembly were 5 and 1/2". I used longer bolts and washers and drilled a slot in the slotted opening. It really works.

A few minor scuffs, but nothing to worry about for me. Kind appears to have been abandoned prior to being boxed up. Overall, it still looks good, though I expect it to have more scuffs within a month.
