To match our roof rack, we had ours powder-coated black. The tops of the Express doors are curved, and this ladder is designed to fit on the driver's side. We'll probably install a metal plate inside the door with bolts to secure it even more because the included screws won't bite into the metal doors as well as we'd like. We use the ladder frequently to access cargo on our roof rack, so there have been no issues thus far. It appears to be fantastic. We only wish it was available in black.
with a little extra effort When the ladder arrived, it did not fit properly on the door of my 2018 GMC Savana. There was a 1" gap between the ladder flange and the door in the lower right corner. My ladder was "racked," which meant I had to bend it to remove the twist and allow it to sit flush as intended. The hardware is high-quality stainless screws, but I chose bolts to prevent the door from stripping out over time and use. Overall, the ladder is on the van; it just needed a little tinkering to get it to work properly.
The ladder will fit on a chevy (not as shown in the photo) as well as the left door (not the right as shown in the photo). The ladder itself is quite nice; I used bed liner to paint mine black. I'd suggest scuffing the gleaming metal before painting it.
This ladder is for my Chevy Express van's back door. It fits well and is simple to set up. I can't give it five stars because, despite the fact that it's supposed to be stainless, it's starting to show some minor surface rust, and it's easy to steal with just a Phillips screw driver. I'd also like to point out that, contrary to appearances, the ladder is slightly longer on one side due to the top curve of a Chevy Express van's door. So keep that in mind if you're buying it for something else.
After installing it, it looks hot and sexy in less than 5 minutes. I believe it took less than a week to get from California to Oregon.
I purchased that ladder for my Chevy Express; it looks great and was very simple to install; it took me about 10 minutes. Make certain to purchase a model that is specific to your van. Product that comes highly recommended.
Since 1974, I've owned a number of CHEVY vans with ladders mounted on the back doors. This ladder was a perfect fit for the back door of my 2005 Chevy 3500 (Duramax) Van. It's well-crafted. Since 1974, I've owned vans with ladders, and this one is by far the best-made, with welded upper mounts that slip over the top of the door. I pre- For the lower mounting bolts, I drilled two screw holes in my door. I've never felt completely at ease climbing and descending any of the other ladders I've owned (which I use to access my Weather Guard Safari rack with Diamond plate deck). This ladder is SUPER STRONG, and I have no worries about it "letting go" (falling off the door with me on it) any time soon.
