The height varies between 54 and 61 inches, measured from the top of the receiver opening to the top of the bar. It's a little wobbly at 61 inches, but it'll do the job.
Yes, I believe you would be fine. My 16-foot canoe fits nicely in the back of my 2003 GMC Sierra short-bed truck.
Hi there. When set to the lowest setting, the minimum height raises the bar to a height of 55 inches above your hitch.
It is designed to fit into a 2-inch receiver. For this to work in a 4 inch receiver, you'd need some kind of adapter (if one exists).

Only because I included a "hitch tightener" in the system did I give this unit four stars. The seller should have included a hitch tightener with the product because it is absolutely necessary for the unit to operate safely and reliably. I would only give the unit two stars if it didn't come with a hitch tightener. br>br>At first, I was dissatisfied with this product because of the following factors: (1) The unit fit very loosely into the receiver on my pickup truck, and it wobbles badly and is very unstable even when secured with ratchet type load straps. (2) Unless you're willing to spend a lot of money on an "anti-" For an extra $24, you can get a "rattle/wobble" device. 00, you'll be dissatisfied with how this unit fits into your vehicle's hitch receiver. (3) As a result, I strongly advise you to invest the money in an Amazon-sold hitch tightener. (4) The unit does not fit deeply enough into the receiver, causing vertical and lateral instability and safety issues; to help make this unit fit more solidly in the receiver, I drilled an additional "pin" hole in the part of the unit that fits into the receiver of my vehicle. To locate the hold, I pushed the part of the unit that fits into the receiver into the receiver until it felt "flush" with the back of the receiver. This modification increased the unit's fit into the receiver by 4 inches, making it more stable and secure. This modification, along with the hitch tightener, is all that's required to get this unit to work properly.
I'm limited by my 5' bed in terms of how much I can carry. As a result, I frequently have to borrow a trailer to transport longer boards, etc. In this case, I needed to transport two 14-foot kayaks, which proved difficult. Our Honda van has roof racks, but getting the kayaks up and down from the roof by myself is difficult. Before deciding on the Tricam, I researched a lot of different load extenders. I wanted to make sure I was getting something that was both well-made and reasonably priced. br>br>Fortunately, the Tricam SLE-100 met both criteria. For transporting kayaks in my truck, one load extender was ideal! I was able to load and unload them without difficulty using the Tricam load extender. It was also adjustable enough that I was able to align it with the back of my lowered tailgate evenly. Almost every load extender review will mention some 'wobble,' so I included it right away.
To match the height of my roof rack, I had to remove about 2 inches. Aside from that, it's perfect for transporting large items like 16-foot 2x12s!.
This bed extender was purchased with the intention of hauling 12' lumber in my 5' truck. The truck bed is 5' long. It serves its purpose well, and I'd feel comfortable using it with 16' lumber as well. It's a little sloppy (in the hitch), but I wrapped a ratchet strap around the lumber and under the bed extender, which pulls the extender up into the lumber and keeps everything in place. My only criticism is that the hitch pin hole is located near the end of the hitch. On my F- The pin hole on the 150's hitch is fairly close to the front. As a result, the hitch receives very little attention. maybe 2- I had planned to put it all the way into the hitch (5-point hitch). 6") and mark the location where a new hole will be drilled. However, I didn't have the opportunity to do so before using it a few times, and it appears to work fine in its current state. is capable of carrying a reasonable amount of weight. Because the majority of the lumber's weight is in the bed/tailgate, it's primarily used to keep the load stable. br>br>The photo shows the product in action (with the straps removed) with 6x 4x6x12 pressure treated posts. The load is around 450 pounds, but the extender is probably only 150 pounds. I could have easily hauled 12 of these posts in the same manner.
I bought it so I could travel 700 miles in my jeep with my kayak on top. We had a similar Thule product in the family, but since I wasn't planning on returning anytime soon, I decided to purchase my own. The comparable Thule item costs four times as much as this one and isn't nearly as durable. Because the uprights are only about 4 inches tall, they are completely useless. Also, unlike this one, there are no tie-down points. There are several tie downs on this, making it simple to secure items from above. The main issue is that the tubes don't fit together very well; the insert tubes are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the outer tubes, resulting in a wobbly product. This can be fixed by purchasing a couple of hitch tighteners and installing them at the hitch and where the tubes connect; another option is to use ratchet tie downs and tightening them to the max, which will keep the whole thing from wobbling. This is a fantastic buy, both in terms of build quality and price.
