Would it be possible to buy this mount and use a different winch with my 2014 can-am commander? The winch I have is a Badlands 2500 lb model. ?

This winch mount plate MA11945 can be used as long as your winch has a standard four bolt pattern of 3" x 4". It is 7/8."

Can you tell me where the mount attaches?

It mounts easily behind the grill and next to the radiator, but have to remove the radiator grill

I think this is a very solid piece. Shipment in a timely manner. One complaint I have is the mount on the fairlead. Neither the seller nor the buyer is to blame. For a socket or torx bolt similar to fit inside the expanded hole, the hole must be larger. Starting the threads with fingers was difficult. I had to hold it in place for a long time. As far as everything else goes, it was wonderful.
