This was purchased primarily for the purpose of providing snow protection to my vehicle. Despite the fact that I had been using it prior to the winter. It protects the windshield from bird droppings and flying rocks (my previous car's windshield had been broken by a rock while parked on the street). And we'll see how it goes when it snows soon.
On the 29th of October, 2019, there was a snowstorm. The truck is a Ford F350 Super Duty. This assumes that there is no wind and that the snow falls straight down, fluffy and gentle. The wimpy elastic cords will snap like twigs if the wind comes from behind the vehicle and lifts it like a kite, and the two flanges that are supposed to be theft prevention are hard to put in because they are so light weight with no magnets or clips that you end up going from side to side to try to get it to stay in the door as a breath of wind on a good day pops them out. To get my 24, I'll have to make some changes to this cover. It will last you a year and a half if you look after it properly. It's a good thing I'm handy with a needle and thread. So, if you get a total of 24, you're in good shape. It might be worth it at 00 per hour. maybe. I sewed in new 1" nylon strapping with adjustable parachute clips for easy removal after cutting off the wimpy elastic tie downs. NOOOOwww! This cover is now more resistant to wear and tear.
As a result, I was only able to give it a four-star rating. . . . The only drawback to this cover is that it only has three magnets on the bottom part to cover the window wipers. They aren't particularly strong magnets; I can replace them with stronger ones if necessary, but they shouldn't be required. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The good news is that this cover is thick and durable. I really like the door flaps and the loops that go over the mirrors to keep it in place.
I had to change my name to Karen, get two cats, and go into Kohl's just to yell at a manager after purchasing this. Having said that, it does work quite well. It's a pain to set up when you get to work (rather than just walking in), but the time you save when you come out after it's snowed is fantastic! I'd buy it again if the opportunity presented itself. Yes, most likely. Yes, I've mentioned it to others. Yes, I'm still ashamed that I bought a car blanket.
***I wanted to make a minor revision to my previous review. So, as I mentioned with my other cover and the elastic, the elastic on this one went much faster than I anticipated. There must be a more suitable strap. I'm going to try attaching a bungee cord or velcro strap to it. When those straps wear out, the hood's bottom edge flaps and folds up, revealing the wipers. Also, the black material shredded behind one of the magnets, allowing it to be removed. I've only worn it four times this year and for a third of last winter, so I'm disappointed. br>br>It's so simple to install because it's not a flimsy piece of plastic like the others. It's sturdier, and it's easier to unfold and refold. In the door, the flaps are closed, and an elastic strap is wrapped around the side mirror. It doesn't flap in the wind because of the combination of both of these. It fits in the car perfectly. No matter what the weather is like, it's so simple to pull off. My car is a Ford Fusion from 2009. The only issue I've had with a previous similar cover after two years of use is the elastic stretching out, which is probably the norm with any product with elastic outside in the cold, wet weather. To shorten the length, I simply knotted the end. I'm going to replace it with new elastic because it's so cheap. This one appeals to me more because it is significantly larger than my previous one. Good buy. You will not be sorry.
This was purchased as a present for our new daughter-in-law. Because she and our son do not have a garage, we gave her in-law a gift for her birthday in November. She claimed that it was the perfect fit for her 2014 Toyota Rav. It's simple to get on and off, she claims. She does not fold it because she does not want to waste time in the morning. She throws it in the trunk of the Rav. It ensures that her windshield is free of frost and snow. When it's snowing during the day, she has to park outside in a private company lot. She told us at Christmas without asking how much she liked it and how well it worked. Our son is in the market for one for his Ford Fusion right now. From her; This is a product that she strongly recommends!.
This was a much-needed product for me, as I live in Wisconsin, and it does a good job. I have a 2006 Toyota Prius, and it appears to fit well; however, when the wipers are turned on, they are not completely covered. Now, the reason I gave it a three out of five is that there are supposed to be magnets at the bottom of the cover to keep snow out. My copy is missing them for some reason. I felt bad for them and tried everything I could to get it to my car, but nothing worked! We had a windy snowstorm, and the bottom half of the cover flipped up on me, but I still had to clean off a lot of snow from my windshield. The rating would be a five if the magnets were actually in there.
When I was at work, I bought this to keep my car safe from the snow. It has a great vibe to it. With the generous size, magnets to protect the windshield wipers, and front over side mirror loops, I think this is a perfect addition to my winter car wardrobe. We'll see how it goes this weekend if it snows.
