It is likely that these are not compatible with knobbies. These were bought to put on the front wheels of my 2018 Cadet XT1 lawn tractor while it was set up to plough snow (I already had chains for the back wheels). My new blades fit exactly as I expected, and they are very helpful when plowing with a left-handed or right-handed blade. I found that when plowing heavier snow over previously packed snow, the frontend of my tractor would often slide perpendicular to the plowing direction before these were installed. Although it does still happen sometimes even after installing these chains, it is not nearly as frequent or dramatic as it once was. In addition to these chains, I have learned that I should keep my front tires pointing parallel to the plowing direction as much as possible. While it may seem obvious, lawn tractors do not have quite the same kind of steering as automobiles, so you constantly need to adjust the steering direction no matter what you are doing (mowing, plow, driving down a long driveway to check the mail, etc). I'm quite pleased with these chains even though they help add traction for plowing, but they don't do much to prevent the front end from sliding out when hitting a patch of ice.
This is the first time since I bought my snow blade that I haven't been able to switch between rear and front hitches When I push snow on either a left or right angle, the ends move in a sideways motion. I was able to stay on the straight and narrow thanks to the chains (over turf tires). I was surprised that the chains didn't rub against the steering knuckles as I had expected. Those who currently use a snow blade and turf tires and have the same issue as I did can definitely use this solution.
It appears that the ad does not make it clear that the chain is a set of two. This product is of the highest quality Chains that are of high quality, and include the nice stretchers that are very nice to have, maybe even Because I assumed the price on one chain was the same for both, I accidentally ordered two pairs. In part because of the company's cooperative nature, the order was changed. My research shows that these chains are the best value for the money.
I bought them for my garden tractor's front wheels, which I use to plow snow in the When plowed down, they work extremely well and allow steering to be done, even in slippery conditions.
I found this to be rugged, which made it great.
I am very pleased with how they fit my snowblower tires!.
I was able to install these chains after I deflated my tires quite a bit and then inflated them and cut off the excess links so they fit well. In any case, they often rub on the steel tabs closest to the wheel on the axle, resulting in a lot of noise, but so far the damage has not been serious. With them, you have to be careful when steering, since they can be somewhat difficult to handle smoothly, especially with snow blades.
