Bolt 7032303 Hood Lock for 2018 & Newer Jeep Wrangler JL

It worked just fine, but the rivets that came with it were not recommended for use. It was a simple matter of replacing the rivet with a nut/washer/bolt. The screw is the right size, I've left a picture in case anyone needs to know.

When I got my wrangler, the first thing I noticed was that there were no locks. This truck is nice, but I'm used to having to press buttons to open a hood or gas cap inside a car. Original purpose of buying latches was to lock the hood. It turned out to be a big disappointment. It was cheap as hell, plastic, and A minor force was required to break the glass. After reading reviews and debating a little, I went ahead and purchased the Bolt hood lock. Compared to the Mopar, this is a lot cheaper, but the quality is not much better. Installs on your own without any technical knowledge. I really liked the directions since they were so hardware is included except the tools (a rivet gun, torx 20, and a flathead screwdriver). My time was about one hour and a half and My skills in working with tools are limited, and I am not an expert. Now that I leave my JL places overnight, I feel a lot better. Keeping track of our batteries is no longer possible, and anyone who messes with them is almost impossible. This product will totally save you money and give you peace of mind for only $100 and change. There is no doubt that it is durable and strong. Just one thing I noticed, the grill that the jeep comes with is a little darker than the two panels that are on the other side of the Jeep. In my opinion, it is the fault of Jeep. The BOLT grill is of much higher quality than the faded ish plastic that comes with a Jeep. Matching is so important to me and I'm ocd about it, but that's the only "negative" thing I can think of. It was also an experience for me to use a rivet gun for the first time. The reason I'm writing this is to give others the reassurance they need who read every review and are unsure about buying. As a result, I tossed out the other "locking" latches for the rugged ridge texture black hood latches. You'll be glad you did when you get this.

I definitely recommend this product. I highly recommend this product because of how easy it was to install. It literally took me only a few seconds to stick my key in the lock, turn it all the way and I was The Pin-It version is much easier than the Mopar version where you have to place them The M6 ammunition I used consisted of (4) A user reviewed the product using the same hex head screws and nuts as the other reviewer did, and it works, but it was a pain because you need a little room to tighten them. To tighten the nut, you need to hold it in place with a wrench. I normally use one for that purpose, but I was able to do it without it. Rather than using the screws after the rivet guns, I would have preferred to use the rivet guns instead of the screws so that I could finish the installation more promptly. It took me a little while to realize that my cover for the Grille was a net design that would prevent me from inserting the key. All I had to do was cut three small parts into the center of the net to ensure that I could unlock it. I have had no issues with the product, it performs as advertised, quality is similar to factory Mopars, and it is a great deal considering the price. With no worries on who might look under the hood, I can now have my back up.

I was looking for someone to install a 2018 JLUS air bag on my car. The key will be used in another way- Bolt locks can be used to lock up exterior items like maxtrax, tools, etc. with just one key. According to Amazon's listing, there is no mention of a 1/4" rivet gun being needed for installation. It just sounded right, as I had a small gun with openings up to 3/16" and thought this would operate. Thus, we had to buy one that was a bit cheap, probably one from Walmart The 1/4" riveter you can get for twenty bucks is a one-time-use tool. I guess it doesn't matter. This installation went smoothly with the included software. I am glad that I took the time to do it correctly. This size 1/4" rivet is significantly beefier than the 3/16" rivets I would have used otherwise, which I believe are commonly found on real estate or hobby rivet guns. Anyone could blow those out with a hammer and chisel There is just something about 1/4" rivets that seem thicker than the 1/2 inch rivets. As a last resort, I thought about using stainless screws and nuts. It just so happened that I owned a set of these in the past and had a reasonable diameter in the shop that would have been suitable to use. I attempted to use 'stubby' bolts however the four holes (2 front, 2 top) have very little clearance and I did not have any for them. By the time I used a dremel to cut off the end of the bolts, went through the temple, and removed the bolt, it was ready to be welded. Originally purchased for a Jeep Gladiator, I mounted it on it. I liked the design of this piece of equipment, but I didn't care for a couple of features. Because the manufacturer does not provide you with an insert that is different from the JL, the Grill Replacement for the Gladiator looks stupid when used with the same insert. So I took the alternative route and used a sharp oscillator to cleanly remove the diamonds. I still don't think it is the perfect fit, but it works. Various things on the lock upset me as well, such as the paint job and the silver rivet tops that seem out of place. The truck bed liner looked good on the entire thing and the entire thing was painted with it prior to installation. there is difficulty in opening the key cover since it is facing upward.
