A hood
The Lisle 45900 hood prop is capable of supporting any hood.
Take off the vehicle's hood prop. Compress the prop rod while pushing the flat levers (2 of them) toward the smaller end of the prop. The levers can become stuck due to the weight of the hood. If this happens, I use a block of wood or the handle end of a screwdriver to tap them.
The hood prop is released and retracted using the small levers on the side.

I didn't want to spend the money on a factory or dealership replacement because I knew it would be too expensive for such an old car. I had anticipated a low-cost rod. Something to keep the hood from falling down on my head, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and sturdiness of this product, which has rubber tipped ends to keep it from sliding from where you put it and can be adjusted to different heights. It's lightweight and small enough to fit in the back seat without being in the way when you telescope it down to its shortest length.
Every penny was well spent! This is an excellent tool. Because I work on so many cars, the hood supports have deteriorated to the point where they will no longer support the hood. The Lisle Hood Prop is brought out, and everything is fine. When the factory hood prop gets in the way of getting into the engine compartment, you can lower the factory prop rod and use the Lisle Hood Prop off to one side. Have you ever needed to inspect a vehicle's brake lights? The Lisle Hood costume is very effective. Simply place one end of the prop rod on the brake pedal and extend the other end to the steering wheel, and you've got yourself a brake pedal depressor. You no longer need to enlist the help of another person to check the brake lights for you. Do you need your hood to open further than it can with the stock hood prop? You can now get more underhood access by using the Lisle Hood Prop and extending it to its full length. It is a tool that I use on a daily basis and is well worth the money.
The hood prop does exactly what it says on the tin. I work in a shop that gets a lot of vehicles with broken hood struts, so this is handy to have because it collapses to a small, compact size. br>br>The only reason I'm deducting stars is because the locks that keep it from collapsing in use chewed up the paint horribly. When you open the thing, it simply screeches horribly. When I open it, everyone in the store knows. I'm not sure if I got a bad unit or if it's a design flaw, but if that's not a deal breaker for you, this is still a great hood prop.
After you've read the questions and answers, you can move on to the next step. I was able to solve it. A clear demonstration of how to use the product should have been included.
This type of support is great for holding open automotive hoods and back hatches, but it can also be used to hold open other types of access panels and doors. This support worked perfectly for me when I was working on some commercial equipment with access panels that needed to be held open. This assistance has also come in handy when I've been doing some kitchen and bath renovations. When you need to hold a panel open or provide some extra support while working alone and there isn't a place to attach a bungee, this support comes in handy.
The prop worked fine, but I needed to keep the hood open for car shows. It's sturdy, but it's not designed for public display. I came across one that was made of brushed aluminum. I use it for shows because it's light and comfortable. This prop works well in the garage.
I am the mother of a seventeen-year-old daughter. year- I have an old Dodge 3500 that I don't use very often. The hood support struts gave way while charging the battery recently, and the hood slammed down on me, nearly breaking my arm. I looked into different options for safely supporting the hood while replacing the struts, and this hood prop was at the top of my list, so I'm glad I got it. It's small but strong, and it's simple to operate. The release buttons are a little difficult to operate, but I don't mind because it's probably a safety feature. Although the hood prop had been lightly oiled, it still had some surface rust. It wasn't a big deal, but it did prompt me to give it a light coat of silicone before storing it in my toolbox.
It's a great tool that does exactly what it's supposed to do. br>My only wish is for it to be a little lighter in weight. br>While the metal is thick and will last a lifetime, I believe it is overbuilt unless you're dealing with heavy-duty applications. vehicles that are used for commercial purposes; It is possible to design lighter materials for typical automobiles - aluminum?.
