For looks more than anything else. This is a decent offering. It would be nice if it was a little heavier duty, but it isn't. I doubt it will survive a collision with a deer and the normal speed of driving however, it looks great and might serve as a temporary solution if the bumper needs a little protection. I was shocked at how tight the bolts on the factory were! Make sure you take your torch out and burn the thread locker they use to secure the bolts that must be removed in order for this bull bar to mount.
