I believe that 388ci 11 is in the world. Featuring a single compression ratio, aluminum heads, ARP headstuds, and a cast block. I have tested Permatex PTFE thread sealant, and it worked. A lot of the studs leaked as soon as the engine temp increased. The heads were taken off again, and loc-aid was used The water has been dry for a few days now following several tests and testing at 220F. There is easily enough solution to cover 34 head studs from a 50ml tube. A second tube was purchased just in case, but I did not need it.
It has not yet been used by me. Locktite products have been reliable for me for 53 years. I am confident that this product will hold up well. I bought it in order to protect the headbolts from rusting in the engine. This application uses A new version ofMercruiser An inboard engine with a 7L displacement.
I heard horror stories about headstuds leaking after assembly. This is great. Recommendation from my machinist. Neither a leak nor a crack has been detected. The sealant is also great for screwing the bolts to the water pump on an SBF to prevent corrosion. It is something you should know if you have worked on many of these. I really like this product. I believe it is worth.
Sealants such as this are excellent for head bolts and similar fasteners that penetrate the water jacket in vintage auto engines and similar items. While it provides the seal necessary for tightening bolts properly, it also allows for proper torqueing.
Even though it is expensive, this bolt head sealant is highly effective!.
It seals any bolt thread perfectly, and it also keeps this original torque when you tighten. In my wood shop, I use this stuff on metal screws. In my experience, it works great as a lubricant in hard wood pre-drilled applications and remains effective.
I found no signs of leakage after utilising the fuel system. I found it easy to apply and it stuck well to the threads.
It works great, but is quite pricey. However, we recommend this for anyone replacing an engine head gasket.
