Because the can was difficult to open and close, I emptied it and transferred the contents to a container that could be easily opened and closed; the empty can weighed 2. My personal experience was that the product weighed 7,6 oz and the container was 8 oz. 1. has taken advantage of me. 2 oz.
Visit a store that sells glass! They have a great product that will help you get rid of your blemishes.
I have had no problems using it on plated silver items. It is gentle and has worked well on brass, copper, and silver items, including those that are plated. I've never tried nickel plating, but I don't see why it shouldn't work. I first learned about this product through an antique dealer's recommendation. Still, if you want to be safe, you should seek the advice of a professional.
You could certainly give it a shot, but I doubt you'll achieve the desired result. Keep in mind that this is a cleaner/polish that should be applied with a soft cloth. I believe that removing corrosion will necessitate a different procedure.

They were dull and tarnished when I discovered them after years in storage. I tried every product the hardware store had for refinishing chrome, silver, or any metal, and none of them worked particularly well. They got a little cleaner, but they never gleamed like they used to. Then I came across this. I reasoned that since it is also German, it might work. Take a look at these images! It is extremely effective! It wasn't an easy task, but with a little perseverance and elbow grease, as well as a lot of clean rags (which became unbelievably filthy as the job progressed—I started the job after using other metal cleaners, so I didn't think they were THAT tarnished), they're back to their former glory.
I gave it a two-star rating to catch someone's attention and because of the following: I took out the can and opened it. The Simichrom was sunken in, about 2/3 full at the edge and 1/2 full in the middle, and it was not level. I took out a digital precise food scale because it appeared to be light in weight, and it weighed 222 grams, not the advertised 250 grams. Please see the attached photos. They should send the balance of the missing Simichrom to me at their expense, in my opinion. What are your thoughts on the subject? br>I am not completely satisfied with my purchase.
The product does not have any flaws. At work, I rely on high carbon steel knives to remove the inevitable patina and other blemishes. It performs admirably. My problem with this particular vendor is that they don't deliver on time. Clearly, the items are not inexpensive. When I first opened the package, it had been crushed or dropped hard enough to break the can open and spill polish inside the bag. I calculated that the remaining contents weighed just over 7. 5 ounces. I'm not sure if it's an issue with Amazon's delivery or if the item could have been packaged better at the start. In any case, I paid for eight. I weighed 85 ounces and received a score of 7.
Simichrome has been my go-to polish for longer than you've been alive. br>br>It takes a little elbow grease, but it's the best 24-hour polish ever. Any metal can be used, including carat gold, silver, chrome, and others. I use Five-Ought (00000) steel wool on some heavily tarnished surfaces. br>br>I use it on wedding rings, my wife's jewelry, car parts, and anything else made of pure metal that isn't lacquered - and, more recently, on an antique gold hook br>I gave the gold hook a new lease on life after it had become dull. To a brilliant gleam, it has been oxidized. Because lacquer will be removed by Simichorme, I sprayed clear lacquer on this hook. My wife and I have no idea where this gold hook came from - However, we were delighted to be able to restore the original to its former glory. )br>br>MAAS Metal Polish - MAAS Metal Polish - MAAS Metal Polish - MAAS Metal Polish - MAAS Metal Polish - MA a German product as well - Simichrome is comparable, but I prefer it. br>I was delighted to discover this item on Amazon. Simichrome is not available in my neighborhood hardware store - Simichrome is unknown to most big-box retailers. br>br>I hope you find this review useful.
Simichrome is, and has always been, a costly commodity. I've used it on yachts, motorcycles, and antique cars, and it's an excellent product. as well as my wife's lovely tea kettle with a Finnish design. Since I got my motorcycle in the mid-'90s, I've been using it. 90’s. The chrome and metal parts have not yet developed rust. Even in a slat water environment, it has kept the stainless steel part on my sailboat bright and rust-free. SimiChrome is worth the effort because it shines chrome and metal like no other product I've used. I usually just wear an old t-shirt and don't bother with fancy pads or anything. The compliments will make your day. No, I'm not affiliated with SimiChrome or Amazon.
Silver, on the other hand, is difficult to clean. This product was recommended to me by women in my church who serve on the Altar Guild and are responsible for the communion silver. It's thanks to them that I learned about this product. It's a lot easier to use, does a better job, and is gentle on the silver while still being able to handle heavily tarnished items. Cleaning my silver has become a pleasurable experience for me. And, while I can't promise you'll enjoy cleaning silver, I'm confident you'll be glad you chose this product; I also despise cleaning brass, and I recently discovered this isn't just a silver polish, but an ALL METAL polish! It's always a good idea to read the labels on products. It did a fantastic job on my badly tarnished, lovely brass candlesticks, and it did so quickly. Another feature of Simichrome that I appreciate is its versatility. It doesn't darken your hands or nails. It is quickly washed away. Nice.
No other brass polish is as effective on heavily tarnished nickel silver (copper/nickel alloy) as this one. If you have a raw brass tuba, it will be much easier to remove a nasty patina, and your nickel silver trim and outer slide tubes will shine like a mirror (or bright silver plate). To avoid having black residue on your hands and clothes for days after polishing with Brasso, Weenol, or any other brass polish, you must degrease the metal after polishing. Trichloroethylene (Solvent 111, AKA dry cleaning fluid) works best, but it is hazardous and difficult to find. Mineral Spirits on an old teeshirt or diaper are the next best degreaser for this type of application. You can use denatured alcohol in a pinch, but you'll still get some black off the metal over time, and degreasing also seems to keep the metal shiny for longer. This polish is popular among classic car and Harley owners because it polishes chrome exceptionally well.
Professional jewelers use this as their best kept secret. This is something that every estate finder is aware of. I've purchased silver items on eBay that have turned black as a result of someone contaminating fine jewelry with harmful chemicals. That is something you should never do! I took those pieces to a jeweler, who put them through a series of sonic machines and hand polished them, but the tarnish remained. Until I used simichrome, it appeared that the damage was permanent. This is the only product that won't harm your fine silver jewelry while also removing all of the tarnish! I use David Yurman, Tiffany, and John Hardy on my David Yurman, Tiffany, and John Hardy collections. I've sold all of my high-priced items. This product is fantastic, and it is well worth the investment. It only takes a small dab and rubbing to get the job done.
