Questions & Answers
This applicator pad is much softer than a regular applicator pad; it conforms better to the surface and covers more thoroughly with less pressure applied to the surface.
If it's still dirty or has the product on it, I'm not going to use it. At that point, I'd hand wash it and see if I could remove it with liquid soap. Yes, I would throw it away if it still did not come out.
Each applicator measures approximately 1 1/2 inches thick, 3 inches wide, and 6 1/2 inches long. They are too small for me; in all dimensions, they should be a half-time larger for me to feel comfortable using them.
Yes, as long as you clean them thoroughly after each use, they can be reused. We have different colors because you might want to keep one for Butter Wet Wax, another for Jet Seal, and yet another for Black Light.

I applied Opti-Mat with one pad. I used a different pad to apply Colinite 845, and it ripped down the side as well. I washed four of them on a very gentle hand wash cycle, and one of them ripped! Better pads can be found at Walmart and Viking. Chemical Guys are, in my opinion, on their way out of the market; they are no longer synonymous with quality. I have their 50/50 wax, which is by far their best product. M-their Jet Seal is a JOKE, M-their Jet Seal is a JOKE, M-their Jet Seal is a sham, and their towels are dreadful. Their towels fall apart at the seams and edges, just like these applicators. I've been a long-time fan, but CG's are getting the axe! You've just lost a long-time customer.
So I bought these pads based on some reviews and after looking at the Chemical Guys website, I saw that they had good reviews, but now all of those reviews are in doubt. However, I'll keep this brief because I've attached a photo of the ripped microfiber pad after it's been used twice. The pad is functional, but it is not long-lasting and poorly constructed. If you want a better microfiber, get the flat one that people typically use to spread wax; it will work just as well and will last longer. br>br>However, that is my real-life assessment.
Good quality terrycloth material and a firm sponge make this a great pad. When I washed it, three of the six pieces separated at the seams. Three sponges were completely removed from the container. I had no idea they were thrown away.
With only a few uses, the stitching came undone. These items appear to be one-time-use only. I'm not going to buy it again, and I'm not going to recommend it to anyone.
" The "total garbage" review is unfortunately correct; after only a few minutes of use (not in the washer, but simply applying liquid wax), one of these had completely disintegrated at the seams. Maybe the chemical engineers could have them made somewhere other than a sweatshop in China with 6 year olds? I'd gladly pay the extra money for a good tool.
For liquid wax, this is the best applicator. br>br>This item is essentially a block of soft foam that has been wrapped in microfiber. You can avoid scratching your paint by using this applicator instead of the round foam that comes with most wax products. This applicator works best with liquid waxes, such as Butter Wet Wax, in my opinion. br>br>There is only one drawback: the applicator is difficult to clean. This is what you must do: the product will be absorbed by the foam inside. Each wax should have its own applicator. So, if you used one applicator for Butter Wet Wax, you should only use it for that wax from now on. br>br>The wax will harden as the microfiber dries out. It's not an issue. When you put more wax on it, it will soften. Simply take your time and work the liquid into the wax with your hand, wearing gloves if you're using synthetic wax. When the applicator is hard, do not use it; instead, wait for it to soften. br>br>When it comes to making these kinds of products, Chemical Guys is at its best. This applicator was created by people who have worked with liquid waxes for a long time. This is ideal for use with the Butter Wet Wax from the company. br>br>Strongly suggested. br>br> It's a liquid wax applicator.
These appear to be of high quality at first glance, but they are not. Chemical Guys produces a variety of products, and I purchased these because their products are usually of high quality. They ripped open after just one wash, it turns out. Even when washing according to the label's instructions. I didn't use them in an obnoxious manner. I only applied The Last Coat to my car with them. As with most coatings, a gentle hashtag motion is all that is required. br>br>Oh, and before I contacted Amazon, I tried contacting them via an online form, but received no response. I believe it is past time for me to look for a new car-care company.
It's all right. It's no surprise they fall apart in the washer because they're cheaply made and have single loose stitching all the way around. However, it doesn't appear that anyone else does one better. The quality of the material is adequate, but not exceptional. My Mother's applicators are a little better quality and last a lot longer, but I prefer the CG shape because it's easier on my hands. I'll keep using them as long as I remember to wash them carefully.
