I purchased the Pad. Option for mitts. So far, I've put them to good use three times. br>They do, in fact, hold a lot of water, which is fantastic. They also have a prodigious capacity for capturing dirt! I'm not sure if they're better than other options for preventing scratching/marring, but they're super soft. br>I have a hard time cleaning them after use. As I previously stated, they are good at capturing dirt, but they also like to hang on to it. I believe that cleaning them would be easier if I had a pressure washer.
I'm not a fan of the noodle-style microfiber mitts that are being sold everywhere these days. I like the plush fibers that trap dirt, and I use them with the two-bucket method, rinsing the mitt after each wipe to avoid scratching the paint.
This is what you want if you adore your car and wash it by hand only. These are kinder to your paint than the ones you can buy in stores. It doesn't matter if you use automatic car washes and occasionally wash by hand; you can get the less expensive retail versions in big box stores.
I decided to go with the Glove Pad option. As others have pointed out, the glove is a little too big and flops around when you try to use it. It feels a little flimsy, but it's held up two cars so far. So far, it hasn't lost much, if any, thread or material during the washing process. The pad appears to be more usable, but it is a little harder to wring out between uses (i. e. before rinsing and resoaping in the wash bucket).
It's because they're TINY! I also have two other brands for different parts of my car, which I'm comparing. I'd get a size large if I went shopping for gloves. As a result, purchase appropriately.
I've had a few washes now with these. They are fantastic. They're soft, can hold a lot of water, and protect your hands from scratches. The sponge is larger than the mitt. For the top panels, I use the sponge, and for everything below the belt line, I use the mitt.
They're extremely plush and well-made! This wash mitt is a huge improvement over the previous ones I purchased. So far, there have been no issues.
My Infiniti's sensitive black paint is not scratched by this ultra-soft cloth.
