Every 30 inches, there is a "merge point" where two ends of the trim are joined. It produces a noticeable, large bubbled area that is usually rough around the edges where the heat has seared the pom poms during the fusion. This detracts from the trim's aesthetic, so if you plan to use long strips of it, be aware that there will be a large "bubbled" area every 30 inches. br>br>Also, I suppose it's my fault because it says 3/8 inch wide trim and I didn't consider how thin that was. Because of the material's elasticity and stretch, the sewing edge curls up on itself. To ensure that the stitches caught the trim edge, I had to concentrate very hard. I like how small the poms are, but I wish there was a wider sewing edge. br>br>I suppose what you pay for is what you get. Because of the low quality, this could be ideal for costumes or arts and crafts. Spend the extra money on a nicer trim if you're trying to make something special!.
It's a lovely trim, but it's not ten yards long. br>I ordered two 10-yard packs and received about 18 yards in total.
Pom Pom is a small, wide pom pom. When it comes to baby clothes or blankets, this is a safer option. That does not imply that it is risk-free. Still need to be cautious, but it's a step up from the others when it comes to crafts. In case anyone was curious, here's what I found out.
Baby clothes are the perfect size. It doesn't have a cheap or flimsy feel to it.
It's cute as a pillow fringe, but I didn't realize there was so little material between the Pom and the trim's edge. When attaching it to the fabric edge, it was difficult to work with. When I used a zipper foot, I was able to avoid missing stitches, but it was still a pain. This is the first time I've purchased a trim with such a narrow width.
I'm keeping them because they're so adorable and high-quality, and we'll definitely find other uses for them.
I'm awaiting the perfect trim! I zig- Really cute! I zigzagged the edges first, then added the pompoms to the right side of the quilt.
Another company from which I used to purchase never, and I mean never, gave me the full ten yards. I will continue to purchase from this company. Thank you very much.
