Yes! To layer the feathers on a pair of costume wings, I made several cuts. The "top" is held together, but the rest of the feather is loose.
It is, in fact, a continuous 5 yards.

They appear to be the same as in the illustration - not a completely black background

They were fantastic! They made such a big difference in my Mardi Gras mask! Because I layered them to add height to my mask, they appear longer. They only measure about 6 inches in length. They're of excellent quality, and you get a lot of bang for your buck! I'd make another purchase!.
This trim is incredible; it's far superior to anything I've seen in a craft store. When I first opened the package, I was taken aback by the sheer size of the 5 yards. There's a ton to do! The turquoise color (which I ordered) is vibrant and has a lot of depth. However, many of the feathers near the tips are a brighter green than shown in the photo (or so it appears on my monitor), but they are still lovely. So far, the feathers appear to be in good condition, undamaged, and long-lasting. There is no strange odor at all; in fact, call me crazy, but I think they smell good! They also appear to be securely fastened to the trim binding. I'm looking forward to incorporating these into my next project! ing! I was able to make three rows on the front and two rows on the back with these feathers. The feather neck piece I made for my Maleficent costume required exactly 5 yards of fabric. All I needed was a little inspiration, some cardboard, and a glue gun, and I was good to go! PERFECTION PERFECTION PERFECTION PERFEC The Feathers were just right in terms of blue. In the right light, it had a lustrous sheen that went well with my gown. Loved it!.
They're super soft, and they're perfect for my Krummi fursuit. The only disadvantage is that if your sewing machine gets too hot while sewing, the glue holding the feathers in place can become tacky and lose its hold, which is why I had to hand sew in about seven yards of the neck piece, but it's still lovely. Whatever you choose to make, the feathers will draw your attention! If I make another head that requires feathers, I am certain I will order more of these!.
In the photo, it appears to be longer. I was planning on using it as a skirt for my costume, but the feathers are too short, and it's layered to appear longer in the photo, which I believe is deceptive, lowering my rating. Feathers, on the other hand, are prone to falling off. I'll probably drape over a window treatment or a door frame and leave it alone. The colors are absolutely stunning!.
The color of the feathers in the photo does not appear to match the color of the picture. The feathers had a lot of gold in them, and the teal was more of a light greenish color than I needed for my project, so I returned them. If that's the color you're looking for, these feathers are of excellent quality.
These feathers arrived in two business days after I ordered two lengths. They are exactly as pictured, a generous length for the price, and the green-colored ones are a nice touch. The black feathers I ordered have a lovely blue iridescence, and the trim to which they are attached is sturdy and easy to glue to the cloth frame I'm using. These will be worn as part of an angelic outfit with large wings. Every other website I've visited requests two. A feather fringe of this style and length would cost three times as much, so this is a fantastic deal.
On a standard sewing machine, the glue in the binding sticks to the needle, making it difficult to work with. A quick coat of olive oil on the needle, on the other hand, did the trick. With very little shedding, the capelet lasted through eight performances. I'd buy these again in a heartbeat.
