What is the thickness of the metal holding the wheel in place? Is the thickness 1/8", 5/32", 3/16" or something else? You can also respond with mm's. Thank you very much. ?

The total thickness of the metal component is 5mm. The cutting wheel opening is 1 mm wide, while the holder is 2 mm wide on each side of the cutting wheel slot. br>I'm guessing the cutting edge is now number two. 5 mm away from the holder's edge When cutting strips, I use a grid that reflects the thickness. It's a fantastic cutter, by the way.

What is the thickest glass you can cut with this? 3/8"? 1/2"? Thicker?

Right now, I'm working on a non-profit organization. toyo chopper It seeps out in all directions. Is there any leaking, dripping, or other issues with the Toyota cutter?

Filling the oil reservoir is not a good idea! Just enough to cover the tip end is all that is required. ...and be careful not to overtighten the threaded plug, or the reservoir will crack. I've had my Toyo Cutter for over 15 years and keep it on its side to prevent oil from leaking into the head.

Why is it that a replacement head costs about the same as the entire unit?

The cutter's main component, the replacement head, can be used in a variety of handles.

I'm not sure why I didn't get one sooner
5/5

This pistol grip glass cutter is perfect for me as a beginner stained glass artist. I started out using a pencil grip cutter, but I couldn't get the grip right for simple cuts, and I always struggled to get a good clean cut. When this glass cutter arrived, I immediately filled it with cutting oil, and oh my gosh, what a smooth distribution of oil and lovely perfect score to break glass! The lines are silky smooth, and the grip and comfort are second to none! If you have wrist weakness, I would recommend this product because it is extremely simple to use and provides excellent results. The tip swivels and can be replaced if necessary, but I doubt I'll need to do so for a long time.

One of my most beloved stained-glass tools
5/5

I've been cutting stained glass with Toyo cutters for years and will never use another brand. This pistol grip cutter is particularly effective for me in terms of reducing wrist fatigue. After having carpal tunnel surgery, this cutter has made a huge difference in the amount of time I can work without getting hand cramps! These cutters can last a long time if properly maintained. The cutter head is also replaceable, which is a bonus. Tip: Fill only 1/4 full with oil, stand upright in an oil well, and never run your score off the edge of your glass, and it will last as long as my previous one (15 years). *I only had to get a new one because I misplaced mine during a move.

Before you use it
5/5

My two Toyo oil-fed cutters should be primed before use to ensure that the oil is flowing to the cutting wheel. Unscrew the fill cap and pump the wheel on a flat surface until a speck of oil appears; Be patient; it is a lengthy process that must be completed.

Without this, I would not have been able to complete my backsplash! I'm so happy I got it! I'd never cut glass before, but I had an idea for a backsplash out of some old dryrotted windows
5/5

Probably a little too ambitious. This was especially true when I first started cutting out the tiles. I was so glad I bought this cutter instead of the cheaper ones when I got to the part where I had to cut inside corners for the outlets. To be honest, I still struggled with some of the cuts, but it wasn't due to the cutter. I'm thinking about taking up stained glass as a hobby because I'm so taken with it. No joke. It suddenly seems doable, thanks to this cutter, which makes a seemingly impossible task a reality. Thanks!.

Cutting ability is good, but it leaks and lubricates slowly
3/5

If at all possible. It cuts well and the cutting wheel lasts a long time, but it leaks where the grip ends and the metal assembly inserts. The two are joined by a ring. I've primed and primed, attempting to get a sufficient amount of cutting oil to dispense on the wheel, but there is no trace of lubricant transferring onto a sheet of paper (which is how I check the flow). I bought two of these, and both of them leak and don't dispense enough. As a result, I rolled the wheel in a shallow field of cutting oil before cutting the glass. Aside from that, it's a fantastic cut! You'd expect a lot more for the price of this thing.

The cutter is fantastic! I really like this Toyo pistol grip cutter; it's a lot more comfortable than the standard cutters I've used in the past, and it seems like cutting glass is a lot easier with the better hand position
5/5

However, good scoring technique is required. I haven't had a bad cut yet, but I've only made four scores so far, all of which have been perfect; I was looking for a new cutter and decided to give the Toyo a try; I'm glad I did! I really like the oil. system that is fed! I would recommend it to others and would buy it again if the opportunity arose.

Glass Cutter of the highest quality I was using a cutter that looked similar to the one that came with my starter tool set
5/5

Until I received this, I thought everything was fine. With this tool, getting a perfect score is a lot easier. Why is this? I'm not sure. The handle is better in that it does not leak oil, which is nice, but the replaceable cutting tool part is clearly better made than the one I had before, which was made of cast, plated metal. The Toyo has been machined and appears to have been built with more care.

These glass cutters from Toyo are of the highest quality
4/5

I've experimented with a number of different brands and. These glass cutters from Toyo are of the highest quality. I've tried a few different brands, and while they appear to be the same, they don't cut cleanly, resulting in broken glass that isn't along the lines. is largely squandered Toyo cutters have been a great help to me. precision of theirs quality. There will be no more shattered glass or broken glass. My only complaint is that a replacement wheel costs nearly as much as a new cutter. Rather than buying a single replacement wheel, you should just buy a new cutter. Also, shipping was lightning fast.
