Product Description

Is it possible to transfer data without using heat? Is it really necessary to use a laminator? It is possible to transfer deco foil or deco flock without using a laminator, yes you read that correctly.
Heat from a laminator OR pressure from a die-cutting machine are both effective ways to transfer DUO.
DUO is an easy-to-use permanent transfer medium that dries clear and stays tacky.

Questions & Answers

Is there a video somewhere that shows how to use this?

Gina K. has a lot of videos on YouTube. This item is covered in videos by and Jennifer McGuire.

Is this something that could be painted on a canvas?

I see no reason why not, as long as the gel sticks to it.

Is this the clear or white version of the product?

It's white when it's applied, but it clears up when it dries.

Is it okay if I use the duo on wood?

If you're designing on a FLAT surface and painting this gel on top of it, I believe you could use it with wood. After that, you'd need to put a protective sheet over it, such as a teflon sheet, so it's Gel, then foil face up, Teflon sheet that's heat resistant, and finally IRON. You could test it out on scraps anyway. But I believe the key is smooth wood and applying PRESSURE with your IRON STRAIGHT DOWN, and I believe it will work. I haven't attempted it. However, some people use very similar glues on wood with foil leaf and foil flakes, and they don't need heat or pressure to apply the foil, usually just your finger and tweezers while the glue is still tacky. Then you brush away the bits that didn't stick, which also helps to burnish and smooth it out along the foil design. They make a product called flitter glue that allows you to apply it to stamps and then stamp a design onto a smooth cards stock and apply the foil to it using pressure such as a laminator, a die pressing, or even your finger and teflon stick tool. I believe this could work with wood as well as long as it is very smooth. Good luck and have fun playing around.

It's fine, but it can quickly become a shambles
4/5

The reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the following. br> It is overpriced in my opinion. I paid ten dollars for a tiny jar. br>br>I used stencils with this paste. I recommend soaking the stencil immediately after use in a bowl of warm water containing dish soap. Getting the paste off the stencil was a complete nightmare. And I struggled to get it all off even after washing it immediately after use. br>br>I had a minor issue with the deco foil as well. I let it dry for 17 hours, allowing it to become translucent. Which is a good idea. Some of the paper came up with the deco foil as I was peeling it off my cardstock. I experimented with a variety of high-quality cardstock and discovered that Bristol worked particularly well.

It's a good start, but you should look into other options as well
4/5

This product performed as expected, but as a Cricut user, I've found that cutting a thin foam with an adhesive side, gluing the non-adhesive side to my project, and applying the foil with my machine to the peel-and-stick side of the peel-and-stick side of the peel-and-stick side of the peel-and-stick side of the peel-and-stick side of the peel-and-stick side of the peel The non-adhesive side is much more effective and cleaner. The Duo is challenging to master if you want smooth foil. However, if you want to use foil that has some texture to it or if you want to use it before it's been pre-cut, If cutting the foiled area isn't an option, Duo is a viable alternative.

For foil, this method is effective

Deco paste works well and dries quickly; I've only used it for foils so far, but I'm pleased with the results. When purchased without a coupon, Amazon's price is comparable to that of craft stores - However, supplies have been scarce in stores.

To transfer film to a wooden ornament, I used this product. It was a great success- To transfer the pattern, I used an iron and a lot of pressure.

Foiling is a breeze
5/5

If you don't have a laminator or a hot foil system, this is an excellent foiling product to use. It works great when you apply it over a stencil or toner ink, let it dry until tacky, then place foil over the image and run it through your die cutting machine.

It does what it says
4/5

I used a stencil and manual pressure on a die to foil this product. It's a cut machine that does exactly what it says on the tin - Nice job on the finish.
