Betty isn't wool, to be sure. If you're looking for wool item number 3275, look in my store Bent Needle Quilting under Gypsy Quilter Felted Wool Pressing Mat.
There is no cover for the Steady Betty board. When pressing a piece of 100% cotton muslin is used, so it doesn't get dirty I will use a piece of 100% cotton muslin doesn get dirty it doesn
3/4" . It's an excellent addition to your sewing equipment. It was designed to be an ironing mat, but I don't use it for that. Instead, it's great for hooping embroidery projects because it's a flat surface. There are at least three sizes, and I own one of each. My favorite is the middle size, which accommodates a wider range of hoop sizes while remaining compact enough to transport for social sewing.
Press your quilt pieces and blocks with the Steady Betty. It keeps the pieces in place so you don't have to hold them in place while pressing. Nothing can slide over it. It's ideal for half square triangles because it prevents distortion during pressing.

My first one was larger, and I adored it and continue to adore it. I bought this 12x12 to put on the side of my sewing area so that I don't have to get up and down to press my quilt pieces while I'm sewing.
I use this product to hoop fabric for embroidery and it works great. I had a larger one, but I wanted something smaller to take to class and for special sewing. It's great for covering a messy work area and creating a clean slate to hoop fabric, lay out a quilt block, and so on. I believe its primary purpose is for ironing, but I don't use it for that. In my quilting/embroidery supplies, I believe it is a MUST HAVE.
I hesitated to buy it because I thought it was too frivolous, but after using it for the first time, I realized my previous assumption was incorrect. It's fantastic and I love it!.
When pressing seams on pieced quilts, this really holds the fabric in place. When the sewn fabric is placed on the surface, it stays put and doesn't wiggle away, so seams stay straight or curved as sewn rather than being distorted and ruining the design or requiring unpicking and restitching.
It was purchased for a baby shower craft project and worked perfectly. Since then, I've been ironing napkins in my kitchen. It's a lot less work than getting a big ironing board out.
It appears to 'grab' the fabric more effectively than a standard ironing board cover.
The steady Betty is a great tool for those who use the Cricut easy press to make tee shirts because it keeps the shirt in place while the vinyl is being heated.
I like how portable and light Steady Betty is. This was found on YouTube by SewVeryEasy. I adore you.
